[A/N]: !! THIS CHAPTER IS BEING REVISED !!
"Okay Maddie, we're best friends, I promise," I said, trying to shake her off. But her grip only grew tighter around my arm. I was already trying to leave this hell hole as quickly as possible but with my current situation, it'd be a while.
"Uh- could you um- please let go?" I say as politely as I could.
"But I love you, buddy," she said as she proceeded to grab my hand and lick it.
That's when she crossed the line. I was drowning in complete disgust and I was determined to do whatever it took to get her off.
I looked around for anything or anyone that could help me.
The exits of the school have a metal separation beam in between the double doors.
This could be crazy enough to work, I thought.
If I extended my arm out so Maddie would be right in the way of the beam when I walked through the door, it could throw her off. Once she was where I wanted her to be I began to walk a little faster. The beam was getting closer and closer and Maddie seemed to not be paying attention.
I walked out of the door with my arm free, my plan worked. I ran down the flight of stairs and turned around when I reached the bottom. She got up and rubbed her head. Surprisingly, a metal beam to the head was not going to stop her from getting to me.
"Comeback my Lachy!" she screamed from the top of stairs. The groups of kids standing around at the foot of the stairs looked at me as though to say, 'Good Luck'.
I slowly start walking away towards the school parking lot. I hear Maddie's footsteps getting louder behind me.
So I start running which is a strong sign my situation was serious.
In the parking lot, I'm frantically looking for mom's van, avoiding any moving cars. Maddie is trailing not too far behind me. I look back over my shoulder, still running, and saw that a car had pulled out right in front of her.
This was my chance to hide. I turned right and hid between a huge white Suburban and a truck. I pressed myself against the suburban making sure I made no sudden movements. Maddie ran by, completely oblivious to me, chanting:
"Lachy, Oh Lachy! Come out, come out, where ever you are!"
She was finally gone. I let out a sigh of relief.
I stood up and pulled my phone out from my front pocket to text mom. I start walking out of the space between the cars. My phone buzzed in my jeans and I pulled it out, still walking. The sun glared on my screen so I stopped to cover it with my hand.
I was oblivious to where I had stopped but I quickly realized I was standing in the road.
A roaring engine was rumbling behind me. I turned around to see a black sports car before me. In the driver's seat was none other than 22. When he caught sight of me, he narrowed his eyes and smirked. He let go of the brake and the car started rolling toward me, I stumbled around and started running away. He was getting closer and closer.
Was this how he was getting revenge for me accidentally bumping into him? I felt the heat of the car close to me.
I'm literally moments from being hit by an expensive car driven by my newly made enemy. I had to think fast. If I can get rid of Maddie, I could get out of this right?
And I did.
I counted down from three. Then I threw my body to the right and fell hard in between two cars.
