"Fire powers!? What in god's green earth are you talking about!?" I said to my parents, "Well..we were supposed to tell you when you were 13..but.." my dad said nervously, "oh so your trying to pull a Rick Riordan and tell me that my mom is a fire goddess named Ignis after your supposed to!?" I said frustrated. "Look many other kids do have goddess parents that choose not to tell them about it so their kids live with wasted potential unless they learn about it themselves!" Mom said sternly. "What she's trying to say is..that your lucky that we told you this." Dad said gently and I scoffed. "Lucky? Lucky!? Are you serious!??! I thought I was your average nerdy kid who likes making inventions! But NO! You had to add fuel to the fire of weirdness that surrounded me by telling me that I have powers! I'm not mad! I'M NOT SAD! Im frustrated!" Mom put her hand in mine. "we know how you feel. I acted just like this when I figured out that I was a goddess at 15. But-" my mom winced and let go of my hand, she looked at the burn on her hand. "I-im sorry I didn't mean to -" tears filled my eyes but she looked at me gently. "Hey it's ok-" before she could finish I ran to my room and closed the door, I sat down and hugged my knees. "I'm a monster.." I mumbled to myself. "I burnt my own mom.." I started crying silently.
(Sorry that this was short. I had to go to church 😭)
