As Nehaal made his way through the corridors of Ahuja Enterprises, he couldn't help but notice the warm welcome he received from every corner. From the security guard at the entry gate to the elevator attendant and even his fellow colleagues, everyone greeted him with genuine respect and admiration.
However, amidst the sea of well-wishers, a few female employees caught his attention with their subtle praises and comments on his charm and seemingly aloof demeanor. "Black suits him more," they had said, and for a moment, Nehaal paused, his thoughts drifting back to the image of the girl singing in the empty classroom, her words, "Nehaal jab tum bde aadmi ban jaoge, black suit pehana you will look like the most handsome person in the world"... resonating with him in ways he couldn't explain,
But with a shake of his head, he pushed aside the fleeting memory, focusing on the present moment and the responsibilities that lay ahead. "Thank you," he murmured in response to the compliments, his lips curving into a polite smile as he continued on his path. All female employees thinking did sir say thank you or was it our imagination...
Reaching his cabin, Nehaal settled into his chair, his mind buzzing with anticipation for the day ahead. Turning to his secretary Ms. Preeti, he inquired about his schedule, ready to dive into the challenges and opportunities that awaited him as the new managing director of the company.
As the minutes stretched into hours, Nehaal immersed himself in his work, the hum of the office gradually fading into the silence of the late night. With determination etched on his face, he pressed on, his mind consumed by the tasks at hand.
Hours passed, and seeing the late night possibilities, he asks Preeti you did well.. go rest yourself... I'll continue hereon... asks his driver Manoj to drop her safely...
While Preeti little hesitant but said sir im leaving please dont overdo it... he didn't respond and she also leaves.. the company became a ghostly echo of its bustling daytime self. With only the security guards for company, Nehaal toiled away, his dedication to his responsibilities unwavering.
As the clock struck 11:30 pm, Nehaal finally completed his tasks, his eyes heavy with fatigue. With a weary sigh, he called his driver, instructing him to be ready to pick him up. "I'll be leaving soon," he assured, his voice tinged with exhaustion.
As he waited for his ride home, a memory surfaced in his mind, the words of the girl from his past echoing like a haunting melody. "Don't work too late. Take some time for yourself. Maybe when you're tired, just take a nap..."
A tear slipped down his cheek as he pondered her words, realizing the truth in her simple yet profound advice. Manoj (driver), observing Nehaal's emotional moment, couldn't help but feel a pang of empathy for the young man who seemed burdened by the weight of his responsibilities and prayed Rabba meher Kari.. pta nhi kyu ye mujhe apne bacche sa lagta hai iski khushiyaan lauta do aap.."
After few hours, he reached home.....
"Sir, we've arrived home. It's time to wake up," the driver gently interrupted, breaking Nehaal from his reverie. Blinking back his tears, Nehaal nodded in gratitude, his heart heavy with longing for a happiness he had yet to find.
Stepping out into the cool night air, Nehaal gazed up at the moon, its soft glow casting a serene light upon the world below....
Dhal rahi pighal rahi
Ye raat raat dheere dheere
Jaag rahi hai teri yaad
Aaj bhi mujhme dheere dheere...
Lost in thought, he whispered a silent prayer, hoping for guidance and the strength to find his own path to happiness.
