(all written in y/n's pov!!)

I couldn't shake the feeling of dread that lingered in the pit of my stomach as I lay in bed, the remnants of my nightmare still haunting me. The dream had felt so real, so vivid, that it sent shivers down my spine even now as I stared up at the ceiling in the darkness of my room.

In the nightmare, I found myself in my old apartment, the one I had shared with Matt before we moved in together. But something was off – the air was thick with the acrid scent of decay, and my neighbors were all gathered outside our door, their expressions twisted in horror.

I remember feeling a sense of dread creeping up my spine as I pushed open the door and stepped inside, only to be met with the sight of Matt's lifeless body lying on the floor. His skin was pale, his eyes vacant, and a pool of blood seeped out from under him.

I screamed, the sound echoing in the empty room as my neighbors gasped in shock and horror. But then, inexplicably, my gaze shifted to my cat, Whiskers, who sat in the corner of the room, his fur bristling and his eyes glowing with an eerie light.

As I watched in horror, my cat pounced on one of my neighbors, his sharp claws tearing into their flesh as he savagely ripped their face off. The sight was so gruesome, so terrifying, that I felt bile rising in my throat as I stumbled back, my heart pounding in my chest.

And then, as if in a trance, I watched as my other neighbors met the same gruesome fate, their screams of agony filling the air as Whiskers feasted on their flesh with an insatiable hunger.

I woke up with a start, my heart racing as I clutched the phone in my hand, the need to hear Matt's voice overwhelming me. I dialed his number, my hands trembling as I waited for him to pick up.

"Hey y/n, what's up?" His voice was groggy, thick with sleep, but the sound of it was like a lifeline to me, grounding me in reality.

"Matt, are you okay? I had a nightmare... I dreamt something awful happened to you," I blurted out, my words tumbling out in a rush.

There was a pause on the other end of the line, and then Matt sighed, his voice soft and reassuring. "It's just a dream, y/n. I'm fine. Nothing's going to happen to me, I promise."

I let out a shaky breath, the tension in my body slowly dissipating as I listened to the sound of Matt's steady breathing on the other end of the line. He was my rock, my anchor in the storm of my fears, and just hearing his voice was enough to chase away the lingering specter of my nightmare.

But as I lay back down in bed, my mind still reeling from the vividness of the dream, a faint nagging doubt lingered in the back of my mind. What did it all mean? And why did my cat play such a sinister role in my subconscious fears?

I pushed the thoughts away, determined to focus on the warmth of Matt's presence, the promise of his unwavering love and support. But deep down, a part of me couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to my nightmare than met the eye, that perhaps it held a darker truth that I wasn't ready to face just yet.

As I drifted off to sleep once more, the image of my cat's glowing eyes haunted my dreams, a silent reminder of the darkness that lurked within us all, waiting to be unleashed. And I couldn't help but wonder – was it just a dream, or a harbinger of something far more sinister to come? Only time would tell.
