POV: Merlyn
Gwen is saved, and the people of Camelot are recovering from the awful sickness that an ancients sorceress has brought upon Camelot. After Gauis revealed that he believed that Nimueh caused all of this, Uther let Gwen go. Without an apology, of course... The king is way too prideful for that, apparently. At least Arthur had the decency to apologize in his name. And I have the feeling he's now trusting me more than ever. Like he actually cared about what I had to say. Lady Morgana most likely had something to do with that, I think, but it's still something.

Especially today, since the Lord Bayard of Mercia was arriving at Camelot. They have been at war for quite some time, so this was really important to both Uther and Arthur and everybody else in the kingdom. Neither side would want a war to unfold, even though Arthur has mentioned that if it comes to a war they'd win, boosting almost.

"You'll stand behind us with the other servants and maids. Don't talk to any of them, you're my maid and only there for me. Do you understand?" I could only nod and listen as he kept speaking. "Good. I don't trust these people. Yet...hopefully we can with time."

We went to the main hall. The other servants and I stood behind Uther and Arthur, knights standing left and right of them. Lord Bayard strutted towards us with a stern expression, looking at each other stiffly. Their blue capes were a directed contrast to the red ones who are worn by the knights of Camelot. Bayard stood tall in front of Uther as his eyes glanced between him and Arthur. "Camelot welcomes you, Lord Bayard of Mercia. Today we signed a treaty that marks an end to war and the beginning of a new friendship between our people!"

Uther held out his hand and Bayard took it without hesitation. People started clapping as they shook hands, smiling happily. I haven't been in Camelot long enough to know how bad the war between the two kingdoms was, but just by that reaction, I can tell that peace was something they waited long for. "A celebration is in order!" Uther announced loudly.

The servants and maids wasted no time to start preparing for the celebration. They were scrambling in every direction. I looked at Arthur and nodded at me, so I made my way to help with the preparation. Making my way through the halls, I saw Gauis walking by me. He stopped in his tracks when he saw me carrying bags filled with food to bring into the kitchen. "Is Arthur working you hard?"

"As hard as you can expect as a maid, I guess," for a moment I put the bags down to relax. "God, how many people are even here?"

"Many! Bayard is probably afraid of an ambush. But Uther takes his word seriously-"

A maid fell to the ground right in front of our feet. She kept apologizing profoundly. "I'm so sorry!"

"It's alright, let me give you a hand!" Bending down, I picked up the table cloth and a pillow she was carrying. I've never seen her before and by the looks of her clothes, she's one of Bayard's maids. Her hair is wrapped in bright blue cloth, fitting together well with her striking blue eyes. "I'm Merlyn!"

"Kara," she grabbed my hand to shake it. "You're Arthur's servant! What an honor that must be." Kara had an amazed smile on her face, swooning.

"In its own way, it is, sure," I answered, unsure. "Someone has to take care of that boy!" I laughed a little as Kara put a hand in front of her mouth as if she was shocked by what I said. "Don't repeat that to him, though."
