Eventually, Cinder and Ronin had found a small cave hidden in a cliff by the beach. Cinder covered the cave with seaweed, to prevent being spotted. She looked back at Ronin, who had set up a small bed made of leaf patches. The sun was gone by now, and the moons had lit up the sky.
Cinder flicked her char-colored tail. "It would be best if one of us watched fer' scouts. The Sky Kingdom is full of 'em."
"Do you know why?" Ronin looked a bit scared, but ultimately curious.
She shrugged. "M'a best guess is me. They've been tryna find me fer' years."
"Do you mind if I ask why?"
"Yes."
"Oh. Well then I won't. Goodnight."
Cinder nodded off, looking out at the patch of moonlight she could see in between the seaweed. The water sparkled the way it did at night. A cool summer breeze blew through the air, barely reaching its hands into the cave. Cinder enjoyed the breeze; it was the one thing she liked about summertime.
She squinted through the cracks in the patch, seeing a dragon approaching. She hissed lowly, grabbing her dagger from her pouch. The dragon, a SeaWing, touched her paw to the patch. She peered in through one of the holes. "Ronin?"
Ronin perked his ears, opening an eye. "Cinder? That you?"
Cinder looked back at Ronin. "No. There's a SeaWin' out there callin' fer' you."
Ronin sat up. "SeaWing?" He walked over to the patch, looking through the cracks. He peeled away at it, revealing the SeaWing.

"Angel?" Ronin spoke. The SeaWing tackled Ronin, completely tearing at the seaweed patch. Cinder growled. "'Ey! I worked hard on that!"
Ronin laughed. "Angel, goodness! No need to wrestle me!"
The SeaWing, who was revealed to be Angel, smiled. "But I missed you! I thought I lost you to the infection forever!"
Ronin made a proud smile. "Never! I shall not be defeated!"
Angel laughed, sitting up. Ronin got up as well and looked over at Cinder. "Cinder, this is my little sister, Angel."
Cinder huffed, and a fume of smoke emitted from her nostrils. Her yellow eyes were intimidating in the dark lighting. She didn't really make an angry face, but her resting face was one of judgment. Angel squeaked and hid behind Ronin.
"Oh, cmon," Ronin teased, "she won't bite."
Cinder flicked her unusually forked tongue. "I beg to differ."
Ronin shot a glare. "Do NOT bite my sister!" Cinder shrugged. "No Promises."
Ronin wrapped a wing around Angel. "Trust me, she won't hurt you. Right, Cinder?" He shot her another glare. Cinder only shrugged, looking out at the moons. "Fine. Only cuz she's a dragonet."
Ronin smiled. "Thank you. See, Ang?" Angel poked her head out from under his wing. "So the scary SkyWing with a skull helmet won't eat me?"
Cinder put up her talons. "Nope."
Angel squirmed out from Ronin's shelter and looked at Cinder with wide eyes. "Woah, your armor is shiny."
Cinder smiled. "Thank you. I clean it ma'self."
"And your jewelry. Are those obsidian rings?"
Cinder nodded. "The finest."
"Your necklace is cool!"
Cinder went silent, looking down at her necklace. It was an obsidian pendant with a small rock inside of it. She never knew why the rock was in there, but it looked cool, so she kept it.
Ronin tilted his head. "Cinder? You ok?" She shook her head, snapping out of it. "Yeah. Always am. Why?"
"You looked a bit sad when she mentioned your necklace."
"Eh, it's nothin'. You two go to bed."
Ronin curled back up on his leaf patch, and Angel curled up beside him. Cinder finished patching the seaweed back up, and sat back down after. She watched guard for almost the whole night, falling asleep just before the sunrise.
Not even an hour had passed before Angel shook Cinder awake. "Cinder, Cinder, wake up!"
Cinder grumbled, sitting up. "What?"
"You have to help Ronin! He got possessed and flew off!"
Cinder quickly sat up and took off, flying. "Agh, damnit! Where'd he go?"
Angel caught up to Cinder, pointing to the palace. "He went that way last I saw!"
Cinder huffed. "Get on m'a back. You won't be able to catch up." Angel climbed on Cinder's back, and she shot off. The last thing she wanted was an encounter with the Sky Kingdom government, but here she was, about to dive headfirst into the palace.
