Romantic Tension:
. Ironically both Buck and Eddie woke up not in bed but on their couches, for they had both spent the night spiralling in confusion and feeling slightly dazed over finally consciously recognizing that they like each other in a way that extends past platonic. And so as per usual they start their morning routines and get ready for work.
. It's a fairly sunny day when Eddie pulls his car in and starts to walk into the firehouse, he then walks up the steps and then freezes seeing Buck on the coach staring right at him with a rather intensely perplexing look in his eyes, but he quickly changes his expression and speaks directly to Eddie.
Buck: Morning Eddie (Smiles awkwardly).
Eddie: Morning (He says smiling, trying not to let his raw anxiety bleed into his voice and expression but It fails miserably).
Buck: H-hey Eddie did any more of your memories come back from the bachelor party night because a lot of mine did (Buck says sounding cautious and unsure with a look of unease on his face).
Eddie: (His heart stops and he feels pure panic as he gulps) U-umm no not really, I'm still really foggy, sorry.
- As this conversation is transpiring Hen is standing nearby while on her phone texting Karen when she can't help but eavesdrop and deploy the side-eye on the conversation since she already has suspected Buck and Eddie might like each other more than friends for years and their current conversation is significantly more sexual tension evoking then usual.
Buck: It's ok man, Im still drawing some blanks myself (He says awkwardly and looking away from him). S-so not to pry but any developments with Marisol yet.
Eddie: Well actually she had a family emergency so I didn't really see her at all yesterday. Come to think of we haven't spoken in a while.
Buck: O-oh are things between you two ok.
Eddie: Im honestly not sure. Im just gonna try and talk to her later today.
Buck: Y-yeah ok good idea:
Hen: (Oh lord, when will these two boys just realise their infatuated with each other already she thinks to herself).
- (FIRE ALARM SOUNDS) (Saved by the bell Hen, Buck and Eddie all think at the same time).
Bobby: Alright everyone lets get going ASAP.
. As usual everyone quickly gets into their fireman coats and get into the fire truck in less than a minute to arrive at the emergency. Long story short they arrived to the scene were a woman had swerved into a ditch while live streaming on her phone because she was on her scooter and not paying attention to the approaching car causing her to receive lots of bumps and scrapes as well as a broken ankle and leg. She then called 911 and the 118 arrived within minutes.
Chimney: Are you okay ma'am, where do you feel the most pain.
Scooter Woman: AARGGH, in head and back but also a little in my legs, I think I broke something AAARGH!
Chimney: Ok got it, HEN IM GONNA NEED A SPLINT,STRETCHER AND TO START AN IV LINE OF MORPHINE!
Hen: ON IT CHIM!
Bobby: Ma'am If I may ask, how on earth did this happen.
Scooter Woman: Urrr well I was live streaming for my new brand campaign promoting my new line of products when I saw the car and got spooked so I swerved out of the way. The next thing I know Im waking up in pain so I dialled 911.
Eddie: An influencer right (He says kind of judgementally).
Scooter Woman: That's right.
Eddie: Don't you know not to be on ure phone while in or on a moving vehicle.
Scooter Woman: I thought that only applied to cars and other motor engines.
Eddie: Ma'am being on ure phone while traveling that fast is always dangerous (Roles eyes still sounding judgemental).
Scooter Woman: My bad heh (She says with a look of crushing mortification).
Buck: Hey cap what should we do about the scooter.
Bobby: Im sure we can just about fit it in the back of the ambulance. Eddie go help Buck lift the bike up and put it in the ambulance.
Eddie: Got it cap.
. The two men glance at each other smiling (mildly blushing) as they run over to the scooter and then talk as Buck lifts and moves it to the ambulance on his own because Its not too heavy.
Buck: H-hey Eddie (Says nervously).
Eddie: Yeah.
Buck: I've pretty much regained all of my memories from the night of the rager, a-and well there was this particular moment that I remembered which I think we should talk about, It was kind of complicated.
Eddie: Oh really (He says trying not to look terrified as his heartrate starts rising to an obscene level).
Buck: So um before we started to calm the party down we were talking about Tommy and Marisol and then we kind of almost...
Eddie: Almost what (He says containing his nerves because he knows exactly what Buck is referring to).
Buck: K-kissed (He blurts out).
Eddie: O-oh really (He says as he turns away hiding his distressed face as Buck finishes putting the scooter in the Ambulance).
Buck: (Buck notices Eddies discomfort) E-Eddie c-can you look at me.
Eddie: (Before he can fully turn around he collapses with tears in his eyes).
Buck: EDDIE what's wrong (He says as he swiftly catches him and helps him to sit on the step of the open ambulance doors).
Eddie: I know Buck, I actually already remembered this a while ago I was just too overwhelmed to bring it up to you (He says as he is now having a slight panic attack but Buck comforts him).
Buck: Ohh you did, well I've remembered it for a while too I just wasn't sure how to bring it up to you either. I really wasn't expecting it you know.
Eddie: Y-yeah me neither. B-Buck Im sorry (Tears now falling down his face).
Buck: What, you don't have anything to be sorry about Eddie, after all I leaned in too didn't I.
Eddie: I suppose, It's just your with Tommy and Im with Marisol and why would we almost you know, If there wasn't something already there to trigger it.
Buck: I guess.
Eddie: Im just so confused right now, I thought I was completely straight.
Buck: Well I thought that way until Tommy kissed me. He helped me realise there's more to my sexuality then even I realised.
Eddie: I should talk to Marisol (He says with a upset look).
Buck: Yeah you should, do you want me to give you space until you've figured it out (He says sympathetically).
Eddie: No Its fine, after I talk to her later Ill text you.
Buck: Ok then (Still with a sympathetic look in his eyes).
. The rest of the team then arrive and put the woman into the ambulance, drive to the hospital to drop her off and then begin to drive back to the station. On the journey back Buck is just looking out the window while Eddie keeps glancing at him every few seconds and both Hen and Chim pick up on this.
. (Time Jump) Eddies shift has ended and he texts Marisol to come talk wheb he gets home and she agrees, but Eddie is dreading it because he realises that he just cant handle the stress of figuring out these new feelings for Buck and Tommy while maintaining his relationship with Marisol (Also subconsciously knows he wants to be with Buck and not her).
