I called 911 once I parked at a gas station and gave them my address to my house well at least my old house. I kept it anonymous.
I knew I had to leave this place.

I looked over to the passenger seat and noticed Lane had fallen asleep so I decided to run into the gas station for some snacks and drinks for when he wakes up.
I rushed in and grabbed two bottles of water, a big bag of Funyuns, and some starbursts for Lane. As I walked up to the counter to pay I saw multiple ambulances and police cars speed by causing my chest to tighten. I paid for the stuff and headed back to the car.
Setting the stuff in the passenger floorboard, I pulled out of the parking lot and just drove.
I just drove straight. Wanting to be anywhere but there.
After what could've been a 3 hour drive i found a median sized town. I needed to find some hotel to stay at for the night or we'd be stuck in our car.... again.
Then I saw a huge sign that read "motel comfort."
I let out a sigh of relief as I rushed in a got Lane and I a room for less than $20.
Going back out to the car I woke up Lane, grabbed our leaving bag, gas station bag and the box my... umm... mother gave me.
Entering our motel room, I was slightly impressed it wasn't as bad as I suspected it to be. There was two beds, kitchenette, a tv with possibly cable.
I helped lay Lane down as I put our waters in the fridge. I threw our other bag on the ground by my bed and sat down grabbing the box in the process.I took a deep breath ready to open the box. Pulling the lid off carefully I gasped at what was in it.
The box contained........

For anyone who is gonna read my book this chapter was kind of a filler but of course held a cliffhanger.
