After their trip from Nebraska concluded, Mike and Abby returned home to a welcoming Max and Jeff.
And since then, things have returned to the new normal. Abby got to stay at home for the summer and have fun getting to draw all day, while continued to work at Sparky's.
Mike Still had nightmares here and there, but he was overall happy. Happy that William was gone forever, and Happy that his sister was safe.
He went to bed that night, and for the first time in a long time. He didn't dream at all.
That saturday morning, Max was busy making Bacon while Jeff helped with the eggs. Upon Mike entering the dining room, he saw that Abby was already awake. She looked tired, and almost concerned.
Mike took a seat next to her.
"How did you sleep?" Mike asked. Abby looked up at him. An unreadable expression on her face. Now Mike was feeling concerned.
"Are you ok?" Mike asked. Abby looked down at the table, clearly debating on what to say to Mike.
Abby then looked back up to Mike.
"I had a dream last night." Abby said. Mike waited for her to continue, letting her take all the time she needed to gather her thoughts.
"It was about Garret." Abby said. Mike was surprised to hear this.
"What was the dream about?" Mike asked.
"He told me that he and his friends want to be free." Abby said.
Mike didn't know what to think of this, he fell silent. Mike didn't know what her dream could mean. Abby was able to successfully utilize Dream Theory, so whenever she dreamed about something, Mike knew it was important.
"What does Garret and his friends want to be free from?" Mike asked.
"Their Prison." Abby answered. That didn't really answer Mike's question.
"Where is the Prison?" Mike asked.
"Freddy's Fazbear's Pizza." Abby answered.
"Freddy Fazbear's" Jeff's voice rang from the kitchen. He entered the kitchen holding a plate of Waffles and Bacon.
"I haven't been to that place since I was a kid." Jeff commented.
"What is Freddy's?" Mike asked.
"You don't know about freddy's?" Max asked, following in behind her brother.
"No." Mike stated bluntly.
"It's a place where fantasy and fun comes to life. It's an old pizzeria with animatronics." Max explained.
"It closed down years ago." Jeff added.
"Why's that?" Mike asked.
The room went quiet all of a sudden. Realization on spreaded on both Max's and Jeff's face. They looked at each other.
"What?" Mike asked.
"Nothing, why did you even bring it up?" Jeff said.
"Abby had a dream of my little brother and his friends trapped there." Mike explained. The room environments kept getting colder.
"Whatever you feel the need to hide from me, just tell me. If it relates to Abby's dream then any information is important." Mike said. Jeff sighed.
"Freddy's Fazbears' was created and owned by William Afton. It closed down after a bunch of kids went missing there." Jeff explained.
There was a light flinch at the mention of William. The kids that William had admitted to killing, died in that restaurant.
So how are they trapped if they're dead? What did Garret have anything to do with this, with the other kids?
Mike felt like he couldn't breathe. He quickly left the room and returned to his bedroom. Nobody dared to follow him. When Mike had moments like these, they knew it was best to leave him alone.
'You know I killed a lot of kids in my time.' William had stated those months ago.
'Many kids went missing throughout the years, thanks to me, several every month if I had to guess.' William had told him.
That's where he found most of his victims, at the family restaurant, that's where he killed them.
If only he had been there to protect. He couldn't have, William hadn't even met Mike officially yet. But what if.
Mike couldn't deal with the what if. He couldn't let William kill another kid, he couldn't let him kill Abby. Mike needed to go back, he just had too.
Mike got up. Only to remember that William was dead. Mike had shot him. William would never take another life ever again.
But that still didn't make things any easier. Mike had that itch, he needed to return to William. Even though he had worked through his trauma, it still affected him everyday.
But William was still there, speaking to him. Haunting him with his presence, touching him in places where he did not want to be touched.
Mike was spiraling again, this was not good. He needed to call Vanessa.
Mike exited his room and walked into the living room where the phone was. Mike dialed in Vanessa 's number.
After the third ring, she answered.
"Hello?" Vanessa said.
"Hi." Mike said.
"What's wrong?" Vanessa asked. Concerned for her friend. Mike didn't know how to reply.
"Having another episode?" Vanessa asked, kindness and concern evident in her voice.
Mike nodded, only to remember that he was on the phone.
"Yeah." Mike replied.
"I'm glad you called me, you're going to be ok." Vanessa comforted.
"Thank you." Mike said.
"Can I ask what caused the episode?" Vanessa asked.
"Abby had a dream, Garret and some other kids are trapped in Freddy's Fazbears Pizzeria. I'm not sure what that means, but I know it's his fault." Mike explained.
Vanessa understood who Mike was referring to.
"I know what Abby's dream means, I'm on my way." Vanessa said. The phone hung up abruptly.
Mike felt relief that Vanessa was coming, he seemed to always feel much better when Vanessa was around, despite it originating from a horrible situation.
Abby approached Mike, concern on her face.
"I'm ok." Mike said. Abby took his hand. It was quiet for a moment. Both the Schmidts siblings being comforted by each other's presence, happy to know that each other was safe.
