In the dimly lit classroom, the soft pitter-patter of rain against the windowpane provided a soothing backdrop to the monotone drone of the teacher's voice. Rows of desks filled the room, each occupied by students, their attention drifting between the teacher's lecture and the dreary weather outside.
Amidst the sea of faces, sat a young man with short fluffy ginger hair, his gaze fixed on the rain-soaked window. His mind wandered far from the confines of the classroom, drawn to the mesmerizing dance of raindrops cascading down the glass.
With a faint sigh, he absently twirled a lock of his hair between his fingers, lost in thought as the teacher's words blurred into the background. The rhythmic tapping of rain against the window seemed to beckon him, whispering secrets only he could hear. If only that was how it worked, in reality he was just ready to leave this specific class.
Occasionally, he would steal a glance at the clock, counting down the minutes until the bell would signal his escape from the confines of the classroom. But for now, he surrendered to the gentle lullaby of the rain, letting it wash over him like a soothing melody.
As the teacher continued to drone on, the young man's mind wandered to distant places, where raindrops danced in fields of wildflowers and the air was alive with possibility. And amidst the mundane routine of the classroom, he took notice of the whispers his fellow classmates let out.
In front of the ginger-haired young man, two girls huddled together, their heads bent close as they exchanged hushed words.
He couldn't help but catch fragments of their conversation, snippets of rumors and gossip that floated on the air like fleeting wisps of smoke. His curiosity piqued, he leaned in slightly, pretending to adjust his notebook while discreetly tuning in to their chatter.
"...heard that Haruka broke up with Ren..."
"...apparently, there's a new student transferring next week..."
"...did you see the way Ryota looked at Aiko in the cafeteria?"
Each whispered word carried with it a hint of intrigue, a tantalizing glimpse into the lives of his classmates. Despite himself, the ginger-haired young man found his interest piqued, his imagination weaving stories from the snippets of information he overheard.
But as quickly as the whispers began, they faded away, lost in the background noise of the rain and the teacher's lecture. The two girls resumed their attentive posture, their voices lowering to mere murmurs as they returned their focus to the front of the classroom.
With a wistful sigh, the young man tore his gaze away from the window and back to his notes.

"Hinata!" A shaky breath yelled from behind the ginger as he walked down the corridors of the school. Pausing Hinata turned around as he watched a young blonde girl rest her hands on her knees, appearing to be out of breath.
"Yachi?" He mumbled, worriedly looking at his blonde friend, her face appearing to be flushed. Taking a step towards the shorter female Hinata crouched down a bit setting one of his hands on her shoulder. "What's wrong?"
Gasping a bit she gathered her breath "It's nothing I just wanted to see-", she lifted her head to look at Hinata, widening her eyes at their close proximity she yelped stumbling backwards, hoping her now confused friend didn't noticed her face turning a darker shade.
"Yachi!" Hinata worriedly yelled as he tried to catch her before she stumbled into the corner of the lockers. Extending his hand, he attempted to grab her only to realize he was too late as his blonde friend hissed at the harsh impact her back had with the corner. Sliding down the corner she sat down staring down at the floor with squinted eyes.
"Are you ok?"
Hearing the soft voice of her friend she looked up at him with a small smile. "I'm sorry."
Catching Yachi's smile falter as she apologized, Hinata couldn't help but tilt his head in confusion. "What are you apologizing for?"
He watched as she turned her head to the side looking at nothing specific. "Making a fool of myself." She whispered sadly.
This only made Hinata confused more as he watched her carefully deep in thought. With a look of realization, he let out an amused chuckle, catching the blonde's attention. "You weren't making a fool of yourself Yachi."
Hearing this her heart fluttered with an unfamiliar emotion as she watched Hinata laugh, a small smile creeping onto her face as she soon found herself laughing.
