I wouldn't call it stalking, more like observing. I couldn't help it. He gave me inspiration to draw with. I always got away with it at least. Whenever he looked through his window and too mine, I'd look down and keep drawing. Then I would look to my TV to see if he was still looking. If he wasn't looking, I watched and got more inspiration. It was a perfect plan.
Except, the only time I could introduce myself was one of those awkward dinners. Parrish had invited them over after helping them move in a few days back. We were across each other and I never said anything. I just had my pasta in peace which meant sloppy. I had blown any chance.
I finished my drawing and checked my phone. It was late and Jordan had left me a text. He was going to be late because the power went out at the station. That meant that the storm above was probably going to end up all over Beacon Hills.
I wasn't surprised that my TV turned off after a bit of thunder rolled ahead. What really got to me was that his house went out too. Again, not stalker, I'm observing.
I walked downstairs in hope that Jordan had a flashlight somewhere, which was a search that left me in awe. How did he not have one?
I stepped on the first step to go back upstairs when someone knocked. It was a light knock, probably to not alert me if I was sleeping. I answered and found a woman.
"Hello, Rebecca. I'm the neighbor." She pointed to the house next to ours. "I saw that your brother was still out and I thought that you can stay with my family until he gets home." She asked and I leaned against the door.
"Sure, I just have to get something." I said and ran upstairs real quick, leaving the door wide open. I grabbed one of my sketch books and my phone. I didn't check which sketch book which would kick me in the butt in the long run.
I came back downstairs and locked the door behind me. As soon as I made sure it was locked, I followed her over to her house. It was my first time inside so I was hoping that I could leave a good impression.
"My husband isn't home but my son is, do you remember him?" Oh I remember who he is.
"Not really, I'm not good with names." See it was true but better than the other part of the truth.
"His name is Liam." She said while patting the couch. "Go ahead and sit down." I sat down on the couch and head footsteps come downstairs. I turned my head to see him, Liam. I turned my head back to my sketch book and realized that I couldn't go change it. It was my secret sketch book.
His mom and him started to talk to each other. I couldn't hear but it was probably something about me or the power. He sat on the other side of the couch and it made me jump a little.
"Hi." He finally said after a door shut and his mother left the rom.
"Hello." I responded and checked my phone, near ten at night.
"Rebecca, right?" He asked and I nodded.
"Yeah." I said while nodding. I put my sketch book onto the coffee table.
"I'm Liam, but I'm pretty sure my mom told you." He said while facing me.
"Yeah, she did." I said while looking down to my feet. I started to play with my fingers.
"You seem to draw a lot." I started to blush so I looked away.
"Yeah, it's a hobby of mine." I responded and I heard him move closer.
