Lara and her dad arrived back at their house. They got out of the car and headed inside. A great smell hit the nose of Lara. "What's cooking, mum?" she asked.
"You're favourite Lara. Chicken Korma." Her mum replied. Lara celebrated. She then went upstairs to her room. She logged onto her video game console and started to play a first-person shooter game called "Sharp Shooter"
----------------------------------------------
An hour had passed, and Lara was still playing her game. Her mum had tried to call her multiple times to come down, but Lara didn't hear them. So her dad sent Mia to get her. Pearl entered the room, and Lara took off her headset. "What is it, Sis?" Lara asked
"It's dinner. Come on." Mia led Lara downstairs, and they both sat up at the dinner table. The family had a deep conversation about things that Lara's sister didn't need to hear, but she did anyway. Lara then heard her phone beep, and she got down from the table and went into the living room to answer. It was PC Stanley Cannon, who had helped her find Chloe's body. He had left a voicemail
"Hey Lara, it's Stanley. The mortician said you're able to come to the morgue. Just... text me when you're able to come." Lara went back to the table and played her dad the voicemail from the officer. Her dad answered with, "I'll take you now. Text him back."
So Lara texted Stanley, saying they were on the way. Lara quickly finished her dinner and put her coat and shoes on. Her dad followed her into the car, and they set off for the morgue.
----------------------------------------------
In the morgue, Stanley was standing over the body of Chloe Wilkinson. He was using a microscope to examine the wounds. Once he'd finished with Chloe's body, he went to the other body they'd found that they. As he was doing it, the Mortician entered. He was holding a whole load of paperwork. Stanley turned round, and the Mortician gave it to him. "What's this?" Stanley asked.
"All the man's file," the Mortician replied. Stanley looked through. He learnt the man's name was Dominic Norris. He was thirty-two, had a wife and two kids, and worked as a bartender. Stanley put the folders on a desk. The Mortician left, and then Grant entered.
"Sir, Lara and her dad are here." Grant led Stanley up five flights of stairs to the entrance of the hospital. There, they were greeted by Lara and her dad. Her dad, Morgan, shook hands with Grant and Stanley. "Welcome to Millstone Hospital," Stanley says, shaking hands with Morgan.
"I'm PC Stanley Cannon, and this is PC Grant Lambert. You must be Lara's dad."
"Correct." Morgan says.
"Follow me to the morgue." Stanley and Grant lead Morgan and Lara to the morgue.
------------------------------------------------
They get to the morgue, and Lara sees the sight of twenty bodies, all in a row. "Which one is Chloe Wilkinson?" Lara asks. Grant leads Lara to Chloe's body. Lara looks at it one more time before a mortician covers it up.
"Do you have her parents' number?" The mortician asks.
"I do. I'll phone them and tell them the news. I'll also ask what they want done with the body." Morgan says, and he leaves the morgue to call Chloe's parents
Lara walks around the morgue, looking at the number of bodies that were found by police. "There's so many," Lara says. Grant overhears this.
"I know. So many people are unlucky enough to either die or get murdered." Grant then walks away. Morgan comes back into the room and tells the mortician what Chloe's parents are. The mortician nods, and with the help of Lara's dad and Stanley, wheel the body out of the morgue.
------------------------------------------
Grant and Lara are now alone. Grant spots a knife left on a desk. This knife is a chefs knife used in cooking. Grant picks up and puts in his trousers pockets. He then goes and talks to Lara. "So what was Chloe like?" Lara turns round and gives Grant a stare.
"Well, she was my best friend, and we did everything together. She was so great." Lara says. Grant puts his hand into his pocket. He was ready to pull the knife. But he would be right for the right moment. "You know, I had a friend like Chloe," Lara face brightens up.
"Her name was Sienna, and she was the nicest friend. Always took care of me, was always there for me. I'm sorry for your loss, Lara," Grant says. Lara stands up and walks towards the back of the morgue. Grant spies a gun on one of the bodies. So he picks it up and cocks it. Lara hears this and turns round. She sees Grant now has a gun and a knife.
"You're gonna do everything I say Lara" he says, holding her at gunpoint. Lara tries to reach for her phone, but Grant stops her by firing a bullet close to her pocket, which misses. "Do not call for help, or I'll you." Then, the morgue's door opens. Grant runs to Lara and hold her hostage, the hand with the knife round her neck and hand with gun pointing towards the door.
The mortician, Morgan and Stanley see this. They were shocked. "Let me daughter go," Morgan says, advancing towards Grant, but Stanley holds him back. The mortician goes to talk to Grant, but the officer shoots him dead. Stanley is shocked, so shocked that he points his own gun at Grant. "Let her go Grant," he demands
"Or what?" Says Grant. Grant then notices that behind him, there are two doors. So he slowly backs towards them, but doesn't know Stanley has a clear shot to the head. So Stanley takes aim and fires, narrowly missing the side of Lara's head and hitting Grant straight through the head. Grant falls back, his knife narrowly close to slicing Lara's throat. Grant lays there, dead.
Lara runs and embraces her dad. Stanley goes over to Grant. He looks at the body before turning to Morgan and Lara. "I'm so sorry about that."
"It's ok," Morgan says. Before Lara and Morgan leave the morgue, Officer Victor Preston. He sees Grant's dead body. "What happened?"
"Doesn't matter," said Stanley. "What's up Victor."
"Well, come to the station quick. It's urgent. Oh, and you might wanna bring Lara."
