"You're a new face around here in Balas, aren't you, love? The name's Nils, need some help?" The man smiled warmly at Four as he spoke, seeming like a local at the city.
"Come on, let me show you around. Ah- I do suggest you cover that face of yours, you're an android, aren't you?".
He pulled out a disposable mask, handing it to the other so they could put it on.
"You're... the first person to not react violently when they notice."
"What can I say? I've seen weirder things." Nils chuckles, patting Four on the back. "Try not to get swept up in the crowd, lots of tourists."
Their little tour went on for quite a while, chatting and sightseeing as they wandered through the busy streets of Balas.
Everything was going smoothly, till Nils abruptly came to a stop.
"Hun, can you hold this for me real quick?" He asked of the robot, handing them a purse. Seeing how kind the man has been to them, Four obliged and held onto it for the time being.
However, that peace was soon disrupted when the shrill yells of a woman was heard.
She pointed and shrieked, accusing the man and the poor android of taking her purse, catching the attention of almost everyone in sight- especially the authorities.
"Nils-" They looked back, looking for help, only to find that their companion was no longer there, as if he disappeared into thin air.
Panicking, and with no other choice, they dropped the item and ran. To Four's misfortune, the police had already been alerted.
If they weren't getting arrested for attempted robbery, they'd be put down like an animal for being an android.
They ran, fleeing as fast as their mechanical legs could take them, rushing through the dark alleyways and passages, slipping into every narrow crevice to get away.
Dashing through the dim pathways, they collide with a person, ever so slightly brushing against their shoulder.
"Sorry!"
"Oh no, it's-"
In the blink of an eye, a gun is pressed against their forehead, the stranger's crimson eyes peering into their own.
"Wait wait wait I'm nice, I'm nice-!" Four begged, not daring to move.
As usual, their talking caught the man off guard, but only for a split second.
"If you're so nice, tell me, why do I hear blaring sirens in the distance?" He pushed the gun harder onto the droid's forehead,
"I'm- I didn't d-do it! This guy Nils, I think he framed me for theft-" at the mention of that name, the stranger paused.
"Who?" he asked, ever so slightly lifting the pistol from Four's head. "N... Nils."
"Describe him," the man demanded, removing his finger from the trigger, but still keeping the weapon in place just in case.
It was clear as day that people didn't take kindly to androids, Four knew that much already. Though, there was a different kind of hatred in this stranger's piercing gaze.
They began, catching their "breath" for a moment, "... B-blonde, long hair, u-um... Gr-green eyes..."
An exasperated sigh could be heard from the stranger who glanced back for a moment, staying cautious of the approaching sirens.
"How did he speak to you?"
"Speak? Uh well... used lots of pet names and... s-stuff..."
".. Right."
