The world is loud, yet silent.
Murmurs come from passengers all around, the faint crying of an infant or two mixing in with the unintelligible mumbles ringing through the air.
Whirring, beeping, even the treading of the wheels across the tracks; all of it sounded like white noise.
"We might get to see snow tonight when we arrive," the thief's hushed voice was the most distinct thing around. His statement brought forth varying reactions, all while he lazily browsed through his phone.
From Aster, a sigh, but Four's attention had been piqued.
"What's snow?"
Their question elicited reactions of surprise from both, Delta finally looking up from his gadget.
"You've never seen snow?" He was answered with a gesture as they shook their head no.
Before he could make another quip, Aster spoke up first, "When did you even... you know, boot up?"
"Six months ago."
"You're that young?" An incredulous look crossed the brunette's face as he sat up properly.
"My programming has me aged twenty..."
"You act more like an easy-to-kidnap toddler."
"Delta." Aster's voice came sternly, shutting him up, but not without a scoff.
Clearing his throat with. he popped a candy into his mouth, "If you want to go out tonight go ahead, I'll stay inside."
"Aw, can't handle a little bit of cold?" The man taunted, spotting the candy. He "demanded" some with a flick of his wrist, but his request was promptly ignored.
The hours passed by as the train trudged along the tracks, eventually reaching its station. It was fairly challenging, heading out, with so many people squeezing in to get on and off the cars.
The three found their way to a hotel, Delta had stayed behind to attend to "matters."
"What do you think's taking him so long?" Four asked, turning to face Aster as they stood nearby outside of the building.
"Probably stealing something," he gibed, unplugging the Zogles from their charging ports.
They snickered, while Aster spoke up again, "You really sure you want to trust that guy? It's pretty obvious he's hiding something."
The android mulled over his words; it wasn't as if they were irrational concerns. If anything, it was the sensible thought process.
"... I don't know, I just... kind of decided on impulse."
He sighed, leaning on a wall right by, "You're too trusting for your own good. It's gonna get you killed some day."
"..."
They didn't have an answer to his statement. He was right, they were too trusting, but maybe, just maybe, things wouldn't turn out so bad.
A clicking sound came from around the corner, and Delta returned wearing new clothes.
"Is that... a wig? And green contacts?"
"No, it's magic," he responded, fixing his hair. "I booked us under Arith Blade."
"And I'm assuming this is Arith."
"Oh yes, how perceptive!" It was like he was physically incapable of not mocking people. "Anyway, I'll be Arith for our time here, none of you better slip up and call me anything else or I'm deserting you both."
