Annika tapped her pen against her lips, as she reviewed the portfolio of the fashion designer with furrowed eyebrows. She startled, feeling a pair of hands cover her eyes from the back.
"Gauri," Annika chuckled as her baby sister walked around and stood in front of her, with a pout.
"Di," Gauri Rai Singhania whined. "How do you always know?"
"Because you're as subtle as a bloody screeching eagle," the dry laced tone of their youngest brother, made Gauri scowl at Sahil Rai Singhania.
"I hate you," Gauri glared at her baby brother.
"Awww, what ever shall I do?" Sahil faked a gasp in an exaggerated and mocking tone.
Gauri gave him a saccharine smile before grabbing the cushion from the couch and throwing it at him. The pillow hit Sahil in the face.
As the seventeen-year-old gaped at his twenty-three-year-old sister, Gauri smirked and blew on her fingernails.
"Cry about me being a better shot than you ever could be," Gauri retorted. Taking a seat, she placed one leg over the other and grabbed one of the several portfolios and flipped through them.
"Di," Sahil pouted, looking at Annika who chuckled in amusement. "Tell this Troll to stop abusing me."
"Tell Shrek Junior to shut his hole," Gauri shot back, her eyes trained on the designs in front of her.
"Gauri, Sahil," Annika said in a stern tone, "That's enough."
"But, Di——" Gauri frowned, looking up from the portfolio she'd been reviewing.
"No," Annika shook her head.
"Troll," Sahil muttered under his breath, glaring at Gauri.
"Shrek Junior," Gauri shot back.
Annika shook her head in exasperation, looking up at the ceiling with a deadpanned look.
"Annika!" The three siblings turned to look at their maternal cousin, Tia Kapoor, beaming at Annika. She walked down the staircase, and wrapped her arms around Annika, "I've missed you, Nika."
"Missed you too, T," Annika chuckled, exchanging air kisses. "London does not have the best fashion diva to advice me."
"Flattering," Tia rolled her eyes, with a smile. "What's wrong, Ri?" Tia arched an eyebrow with an amused smile at Gauri who was glaring at her brother, who had his narrowed eyes trained on her.
"Just the reincarnation of Dracula annoying me," Gauri shrugged.
"You're not much to look at either, Queen of Ogres," Sahil retorted.
"Gauri! Sahil!" Annika sighed. "That's enough."
As the Rai Singhania siblings opened their mouths to protest, Tia interjected, "Annika is right." Gauri snapped her mouth shut and scowled at her brother who sneered at her. "Why can't you two go back to being the sweet and supportive duo you were when Annika was in London?" Tia placed a hand on her hip.
