Today was the race
I ended up in p5 not really happy about but it's okay
Daisy couldn't make it to the race said she will be flying early to Monza
My flight is tonight at 3
I'm looking forward to my next race hopefully I'll be able to win in Monza again
I went back to the hotel room today was a stressful day I think I need to sleep
I woke up to a phone call
Oh my god can't I just get some sleep
It's 7pm now well I slept for maybe five hours
It's Lorenzo
"Hello Enzo" I say half asleep
"Charles listen to me I'm gonna tell you something but don't panic it's not a big deal" Lorenzo says which makes me even more worried
I lean on my headboard "Lorenzo what's going on is everything okay?" I say
"Yes everything is fine but-" Lorenzo is hesitating to speak
What could've happened
"Lorenzo you're stressing me what is it?" I say
"Mama she's-"
As soon as I hear mama's name I lose my shit
"What? What happened to mama is she okay?"
"Yes she's fine now the doctor said not to worry about it" Lorenzo said
"Well what happened? Where are you now" I say
"We're in the hospital she said she wasn't feeling well and then she went unconscious so we had to take her to the hospital" he said
"Why was she feeling sick?" I say
"I don't know maybe because of the flight she may have-" Lorenzo says but I cut him off
"Wait what flight? Where are you?" I ask him
"Well we wanted to come to Monza to surprise you this weekend" Enzo said
"You told me you weren't coming" I say
They told me two days ago that they wouldn't make it to Monza
"Okay I appreciate it but you shouldn't have come if mama wasn't feeling well" I say
It didn't matter if they came or not as long as they were okay it's fine
"Don't worry it's nothing besides she's doing well now and we might get out of here in two hours" Enzo said
"Okay I'll try to come" I say
"No you don't have to, stick to your flight" Enzo said
"I can take the flight with Carlos he's leaving in- I think half an hour"
"I'll try to catch him" I say
"Okay if you want" Lorenzo says and we hang up
I began to pack my suit as fast as I can so I could make it to Carlos's flight
I finish and go to the lobby to check out and leave
I get in my car and call Carlos
Thankfully he picks up
"Hello Carlos" I say
"Hello Charles how are you doing?" He says
"I'm good I'm good hey are you in the airport?" I ask him straight away
"Yes I am actually my plane leaves in 30 minutes" he said
"Okay that's good I was wondering if I could come with you on the plane. Short story my mom is in Monza and she's not feeling very good she's at the hospital so it would be nice if I could come with you" I say
"What are you saying man of course you can. But you should get out of the hotel like right now" Carlos said
"Oh don't worry I'm already on my way really thank you Carlos" I say
"Anytime man I could also use some company I'm flying alone tonight" Carlos says
"Yeah sure I'll try to come in time" I say
We hang up
Ten minutes later I arrive at the airport
I see Carlos we say hello to each other
"You're right on time" Carlos says
"That's good" I say
We get to the plane and leave
While on the plane
"What happened with your mom? Is she like okay?" Carlos asks me
"I don't know my brother called me and said when they were flying she wasn't feeling good so when the landed they went to the hospital so I'm going to see how are they doing" I say
"Hope she's fine" Carlos says and I thank him
"Well let me tell you this then" Carlos says
What does want to tell me
"What is it" I ask him
"I signed with Ferrari for next season" Carlos said
What?! I can't believe it I didn't even know
"Seriously? That's amazing i didn't know that" I say
Having Carlos as a teammate I think is wonderful
Even tho I'll miss Sebastian he was like a father figure in the team
"Yeah i signed them last week but Matia said to keep down for now" Carlos says
"That's incredible man I'm sure we'll be good teammates" I say
Carlos is one of the good guys on the grid and he came from a very classy family and his dad also is into f1
Honestly the Sainz family are the best
"I'm sure we will" Carlos says
"Does Lando know?" I ask him
Carlos and Lando became very close friends during their time in McLaren so I think Lando wouldn't be so happy about this
"No he doesn't know yet I don't know how to tell him that" Carlos said
"I'm sure he'll understand in the end it's business we're not meant to stay in same team forever" I say
Even tho I hope to stay in Ferrari like all my career but I don't we'll see about that later
"I hope he does" Carlos says
We spend the flight talking about f1 and our families and I find that we're a bit like each other
