REAL LIFE

"ladies and gentlemen, on behalf of united airlines, we'd like to be the first to welcome you to beautiful los angeles."

kalea removed her headphones from her head and placed them in their case. she took a glance out of the window, immediately getting excited that she was back in california. if she could choose, she'd much rather live in california.

she'd thought about transferring before, but she didn't wanna bother with the whole process and struggle to get her classes and credits transferred over as well. along with that, moving all of her things would take forever, considering she could only bring so much with her on the flights.

"the local time is currently one thirty-four pm. for your safety and the safety of others around you, please remain seated with your seatbelt fastened until we have reached the gate."

kalea rested her hands on her seatbelt, eager to exit the plane. to her, it was probably the slowest it's ever taken to arrive at the gate. to her luck, though, she was in one of the first few rows of the plane, so she'd be off the plane quickly as soon as the door opened.

every time she arrived in los angeles, her favorite part was running up to her mom and giving her the biggest hug. she knew that this time especially, she'd be giving her a huge hug. the bond between kalea and her mom was unbreakable, a lot different than the bond she had with her dad.

she was going to love her dad no matter what and it was hard to forgive him. because of that, she still holds a grudge against him and his new wife. she thought it was astonishing that his new wife married him, knowing she ruined a marriage and family. that was something she just couldn't forgive.

the flight attendants gave passengers the go ahead to exit the plane, and within a minute, kalea found herself off the plane and speed walking through the los angeles airport.

the walk felt longer than usual, again because she was super excited to be back, but a smile instantly grew on her face when she noticed not only her mom, but teagan there as well waiting for her.

the two both had smiles on their faces, and kalea's mom stepped back so she could hug teagan first.

"welcome home," teagan squealed as the two shared a long embrace.

kalea pulled away, "i wasn't expecting you to be here."

"your mom offered to bring me with, i couldn't say no," teagan laughed, earning a small laugh from kalea as well.

kalea then went to hug her mom, "hi momma."

her mother held her in a tight embrace, letting her hug her for as long as she needed. "i have a surprise for you when we get home," her mom whispered.

kales pulled back and looked at her with furrowed brows, "oh? what's the occasion?"

"just showing my love for my daughter."

teagan wiped a fake tear from her cheek, "you guys... stop it. i'm gonna cry."

kalea laughed, "oh shut up."
