Yeji stirred the hot chocolate in front of her. A soft breath escaped her lips. It seemed the woman wasn't in the mood to drink it. Nor was she eager to eat a slice of cheesecake with the drink. Something troubled her mind, or rather, someone troubled her mind.
Ryujin Sanders.
Her forehead creased as she recalled her lover's recent behavior. The Harrison woman noticed Ryujin was changing. For some reason, the black-haired woman now came home late more often because of work. Even though she repeatedly asked her to go home on time. When she tried to inquire about it, Ryujin seemed indifferent. Even during their arguments, Ryujin tended to escape, leaving her alone. No more Ryujin was coaxing her when angry or pleading for forgiveness. Only shouting and slamming doors they both did. What frustrated her the most was that yesterday, Ryujin didn't come home and chose to stay at Chaeryeong's apartment.
Yeji couldn't reach her at all because her phone was off. When she asked about it when her lover returned, Ryujin only claimed she was working on an important project and needed Chaeryeong's help. It was an entirely unbelievable reason. Ryujin's recent behavior honestly worried her a lot. She feared her lover would revert to her old self. Ryujin's past self was terrifying to Yeji.
Flashback
"Ryu... let's go home. You're already drunk, okay?" Yeji persuaded, seeing Ryujin was half-conscious. However, the black-haired woman kept sipping her drink as if Yeji's invitation was just a passing wind for her.
"Shut up. If you want to go home, go home by yourself. I still want to drink." Ryujin muttered unclearly. She then shouted to the bartender for another glass.
Yeji grabbed Ryujin's arm and tried to pull her, but the black-haired woman quickly pushed her away. The orange-haired woman flinched at Ryujin's unpleasant behavior.
"Can't you handle your own business? Please leave me alone!" Ryujin snapped harshly.
Yeji looked sadly at the figure of Sanders' woman before her. Suddenly, a pang of pain hit her heart. Like drops of ink falling into a glass of water, the pain now spread, making her heart darker with agony. She couldn't do anything but watch the person she loved struggle with the strong drink in her hand.
"Who is she, Ryu?" Yeji looked at her in astonishment as she saw Ryujin sitting with a girl on the sofa. She noticed the cold-eyed woman's hand encircling the waist of the girl next to her, embracing her intimately. Honestly, it hurt to see them being affectionate like that in front of her, but she tried not to show it and maintained a poker face.
"She's Winter, my date tonight. Isn't that right, honey?" Ryujin teased, causing the girl named Winter to kiss her lips.
Yeji frowned. She knew who Winter was. Winter Klein, publicly known as Winter, was a singer. Although the singer wasn't very famous, having just debuted a few months ago. But seeing the two of them kissing each other's lips infuriated her.
Yeji clenched her fists in frustration. She stared sharply at the black-haired woman. "How could you do this to me, Ryu? I've given you everything. How can you still play with other women?"
Yeji recalled how she and Ryujin also got to know each other similarly. They met at a club by chance when Yeji was ordering a drink. Through some short conversations and a little flirtation, they eventually exchanged phone numbers. Since then, they had been casually dating until one day, Ryujin took their relationship to a more intimate level, and Yeji lost her virginity there.
Ryujin furrowed her brow. She released her embrace from Winter and stood up immediately. Now they were facing each other, "Why don't you understand either? There's no relationship between us, Yeji. Wasn't I clear enough back then?"
