*Macaque's POV
I woke up the next morning to find that the cubs were still asleep. I smiled and kissed their heads, I then hear movement behind me and saw that everyone was already up but I saw wukong glowing while sitting on a pillow.
"Oh Macaque your up! Monkey king said that you overused your powers and you fainted... are you ok?" Mk asked
"Oh hey bud! I didn't notice that I teleported here but overall, I'm fine" I said reassuring Mk
"Hello Mr Maquack! I made you some tea to keep you hydrated" The big blue guy named Sandy said giving me the tea
I took a sip of the tea and actually tasted good then I realized the Sandy called me 'Maquack'
"Sandy my name is Macaque not what ever you just said..." I corrected
"Oh sorry Mr Macaque" Sandy apologized
"It's ok but question, where are we going?" I asked
I looked at Mk's expression on his face go into realization not realizing that he hasn't told me yet
"Oh right, We need Monkey king to wake up but I can't do that..." Mk said
"What is Wukong doing?" I asked looking at the golden furred Monkey
"Oh he's meditating to regain his powers he lost after he fought Nezha" Mk said
"Your talking about the lotus prince right?" I questioned
"Yep, this monkey man has to regain his strength so we can take down the lady bone demon" Mei said
After awhile, we were still talking until the vehicle's engine stopped working. We all hopped out of the vehicle to see a junkyard nearby. Mk and his gang decided to go to the junkyard while I stayed near the Van. Rumble and Savage were awake and wanted to move around.
'Mk and the others are busy right now, that means I could give Rumble and Savage some time to get energy out of there system'
I thought for a moment, and then I decided to let the babies have their fun. After a few minutes, they started to get hungry,so I had shadow portal ready in case something happened and teleported into the van to get my bag, I had 4 bottles of milk ready for them. I heat up 2 of the bottles and gave them to my cubs. After while, the cubs were fed and put to sleep, by the time they were put to sleep, Mk and the others came back with the new engine and we were back on the road again.
The others started talking again till Wukong stopped glowing and woke up.
"Hey everyone! How everyone doing? Did something happen while I was gone?" Wukong asked
"Yea! My gold vision came back and also guess who awake" Mk said pointing at me
Wukong looked over at me and looked shocked. Me and him locked eye with each other. Everyone started to feel tense because they know me and Wukongs relationship right now.
"So... how are you feeling after... you know, your powers being drained?" Wukong asked
"Fine I guess, but I could use more rest thanks for asking" I said
"So, why is your power drained?" Wukong asked
I had to tell him about my shadow lantern but I couldn't get my cubs involved
"I was running from that lady bone demon" I said
Everyone had froze, they had stayed quiet until I spoke again
"I had a item that she needed for her giant mech, the shadow lantern" I revealed
"THE SHADOW LANTERN!" Everyone in Mk's friends shouted and I winced at the yelling. Everyone said sorry
"Isn't that the same lantern that you trapped everyone in at the shadow play?" Mk asked
I nodded "Yes, shortly after you all left, The so-called mayor of the city attacked me and tried to bring me to the Lady herself but I managed to escape"
Wukong realized something in that sentence "Why was the lady bone demon after you...?"
I froze knowing this will be bad if I told
"I...am in dept to the lady bone demon, I am supposed to be hunting you down right at this moment, but I escaped before encountering her so she's probably going for my head right now..."
Everyone then froze again after what I just said until Pigsy spoke up
"You're supposed to be working with The Bone Demon right now! You're putting us all in danger at this very moment!!!" He yelled at me and I covered my ears again and my cubs started whimpering
Wukong stopped him from yelling at me more and looked at me
"So you escaped from her and came here?" He asked
"Yes I did I had nowhere else to go and only people I was thinking of was...Mk"
Mk looked at me with a surprise look and then smirked and said "You care about me~"
I sighed and rubbed my my face, not wanted this conversation to go on. Wukong noticed my discomfort and made everyone back off and continue on what they were doing and then I remembered something
"Wait, if I may ask now that Wukong is awake, what are yall on this journey for exactly?" I asked more curious
"Oh right! Now we can tell you! We are going to find the Samadhi fire rings!" Mk said in excitement and I yelled
"WHAT!? Wukong do you know how dangerous this is?! The Samadhi fire can't be reforged! We don't know what could happen because of what happened last time!!!" I yelled at him
"Listen I have a plan and it will work just wait until we get to the summit, ok?" Wukong reassured me. I nodded and i lied down and ignored the others talking and fell asleep
Few Hours later(Nighttime)
Wukong's POV
After talking to Macaque a few hours ago, he was still asleep and so was everyone else. I was about to go to sleep until I heard a noise... like a monkey chirp...from where?
I heard it again and turned to Macaque, I got curious and walked over as quickly and quietly as I could be and looked over his shoulder and what I saw was shocking...
...baby monkey cubs... why does Macaque have them? They look like him...
I took a quick look at them and they did indeed look like Macaque... I wanted to hold one in my arms like I did for the other baby monkeys on the mountain but then Macaque started to move and hurried to my makeshift nest and fell asleep before Macaque could see me.
Before I went to sleep, I heard him care for them like a loving would do, and I smiled and then went to sleep
