The Hidden Truth

Chapter 2- Cajut Island (Eric)

Everything was fine, until Ashton walked in. He said he thought he was kicked out. We were all confused and didn't know how to react. I watched Stacy's face as Ashton spoke those words. She looked very happy but I knew that was not the case.

" Guys, please help me. I don't know what to do and I'm scared. I need this scholarship, because as you can tell, I'm not exactly the wealthiest man alive. What should I do?" Ashton said.

We all just stood there for a few seconds. Then finally, Stacy spoke up.

" What did you do to cause you to deserve this?" Stacy asked.

" Nothing much... All I did was tell that old guy to screw off... and try to punch him... And say that her daughter was super rad.. And that's it. Like I said, nothing much. " Ashton replied.

" Omg! U did that!? Haha." Hailey laughed.

" Dude, you are so dead, but don't worry we will help you, right Stacy? " Vector said.

" Why do we have to? He is not trustworthy and he dug his own grave already." Stacy complained.

Everyone decided to help Ashton except Stacy. It was getting late so we decided to go to Professor Zean's office now. When we got there, Mr. Zean didn't look too happy. We begged him to let Ashton stay and it was really hard. It took a lot of time and effort, but finally, he let Ashton stay.

" Ashton, this is your last chance. Next screw up, you are out, and your friends won't be able to save you. Oh, and you will not be allowed on the first mission, and stay away from my daughter. " Professor Zean stated.

" Okay. Thank you. It won't happen again. Good night sir." Ashton said.

The next morning, everyone was on time for training, that means everyone could go on the first mission, well except Ashton. Clarity, Jezebel, and Andy were training us, and I have to admit they were tough.

" Today, we will be teaching you the basics. Like, how to attack, build a shelter, use these gadgets, and build teamwork. There will be no easy way out. We will do this all day if we have to. Remember your mission is tomorrow so you need all the training you can get in case of emergencies." Clarity explained.

We were split into groups of 3. I was in a group with Shelly and George, with Jezebel as our trainer. The other groups were Stacy, Tim, and Vector with Clarity as their trainer, and Team Andy, with Ashton, Christina, and Hailey.

" Okay, so let's start off with the gadgets. This over here is acid gun spray. When you shoot it, the bullet will turn into acidic fog and it will destroy anything it touches. Do not use it, unless you are under attack." Jezebel stated.

After Jez explained all the gadgets, we started to do workout drills that I never had seen before. They were painful and very exotic. Not even 5 minutes had passed, and we were all very sweaty and tired already. I could see Jezebel laughing at us.

" This so hard. How do they do this?" George whispered to me.

" I know, I'm dying from this drill." I replied.

I looked to my left where the other groups were, and they were still looking at the spy gadgets.

30 minutes later, we had finished the first drill. We were all exhausted and wanted to stop already.

" okay, you guys look bad. Haha. We can stop if you guys aren't strong enough. What a bunch of weak people. I knew you couldn't do it. Do you guys want to stop?" Jezebel asked us.

" What do you mean? I feel fine. I can do this all day. I can do this in my sleep." I said.

I lied. I wanted to stop, but I needed to prove to her that I was capable of doing all of this. We continued the drills, and finally, Shelly, George, and I got the hang of it. 2 hours later, we switched over to building a shelter. It was super cool, and I learned so many new things from it.

Many hours went by, and the boot camp was finished. We had the rest of the day to relax and pack for the mission tomorrow. I felt really good about the mission. Ashton, Vector, and I decided to invite all the guys into our room. We talked about our trip so far, and also about girls. Ashton went on and on about Clarity. Tim, George, and Vector stayed quiet. I had no feelings for anyone yet, so I stayed quiet too. The night was great with all the boys.
It was the day of the mission. We all were boarding the bus except Ashton due to his punishment. I sat next to Tim. We were heading to a dock, where we would go on a boat ride to the island. The island was called Cajut Island. I didn't know what it meant but it sounded really interesting. One hour later, we got off the bus and boarded the boat. It was Dejavu all over again. The last time I was on a boat things didn't go so well. But I had to think positively, so I thought of how we had Jezebel, Andy, and Clarity with us this time. They were all professionals and they know what they are doing. I felt better from that.

" Guys! We are here! " Jezebel shouted.

Cajut Island was beautiful with different colors, trees, and animals. We got off the boat and I took my camera out. I took so many pictures of so many different things. One picture really caught my eye. It was a picture of this rock. It was so old and small, but something told me that it was more than just a dirty old thing.

" Everyone! Come here!" Clarity shouted.

We all huddled up.

" We are one team. If anything bad happens, just scream as loud as you can. I'm pretty sure one of us will hear you. We will call back up if enemies approach us. Never be alone. Always have someone with you. Understand?" Clarity explained.

We all nodded and listened to her. We started to set up camp. Our camp looked really nice. I went to go grab some leaves with Christina then all of a sudden, I heard a gun shot. I ran back to camp as quickly as I could. As I was running, I heard a lot of loud screams. It was Jezebel. She had gotten shot in the arm. Everyone was surrounding her trying to comfort her.

" Who did this to her? One of you must have done this! Who had a gun? Answer now!! " Andy yelled.

No one knew who shot Jez. Luckily, Jez survived. This just proved to all of us, that no one was to be trusted.
