I tell myself that I'm making sure she is having a good time, but the truth is I just can't take my eyes off her. I managed to pick seats where the arm rest didn't fully move out of the way, but nothing would stop us from cuddling.

The movie's music is fun, I can hear the lyrics sung in her voice as she follows them in her head. The glow from the screen lights up her beautiful brown eyes.

Running inside, we had to make it through the rainy evening, but it didn't take long for us to dry off. She unrolled the blanket tucked under her arm, revealing treats and goodies like those we have snuck in before.

From start to finish it was been a great date night, but I can tell the end of the movie is drawing near. And there's nothing we have planned after this.

I just don't want the night to be over. I don't want her to drive to the next city over. I know she's close but I wish she was just a little bit closer. So I could give her a big hug and never let go.

I don't say any of that aloud though as we head to the lobby, stopping real quick at the bathroom, taking turns holding each other's stuff. I hold the umbrella as we walk back to the car, silent except the patter of rain and the passing of cars in the parking lot.

Oh man I don't want this night to end.

I lift the umbrella over her head as she climbs in the driver seat. She volunteered to drive and I got to hold her hand on the way. I couldn't keep the smile off my face as I made my way around to the passenger door.

The moment I climbed in, she grabbed my arm, pulling it close to her and laying her head on my shoulder. Suddenly, I strongly disliked the rain. I would've gotten out right then and gone to hug her if it hadn't picked up over the last few minutes.

I snuggled in close. As close as I could with the center console between us. We stayed like that for a few moments, I can't even remember if the car was on yet, or if it was just a symphony of our breathing and the rain on the windshield passing the time.

She slid out from the position she had been holding my arm in, turning the car on, igniting a gentle rumble beneath us as the headlights shone on the bushes ahead.

I looked at her, twisting in my chair to get my shoulders square and looking her straight in the eyes. The words "I love you" spilled out of me, uncontrollable, yet perfectly accurate.

She flashed a smile, confessing her own love right back at me. My heart fluttered. I love it when she says those words.

I leaned across and gave her a peck on the cheek, nervous about going for the lips that spoke those three, time-stopping words.

Just then I noticed the song playing through the car. I couldn't say if there had been anything playing before, but there was certainly a song now.

"I found a love,
For me..."

She returned the kiss on my own cheek, but her eyes continued searching mine. I could tell she wanted what I wanted.

In the car, after our movie date, under the dark, rainy sky, I leaned to her side of the car once more.

And I kissed her.

And she kissed me back.

It was all so perfect.
