Music bounced from wall to wall and a display of flashy, over-the-top lights turned what was once a clear vision into a dim haze. I place my eyes into the bright orange cup in my hand and questioned what I was even drinking. I'm not sure where Christina and Lana went but I could've sworn I just saw them. With my head spinning, warm hands find themselves wrapping around the dress that once looked magnificent but had been torn up and stained throughout the lengthy night. "I um... who.. are you..?" The words I searched for seem to fall out my mouth with a struggle. "Oh darling don't tell me you've already forgotten?" The unfamiliar face taunted "uh.. sorry." I replied and sipped the mystery drink like a reflex. "Don't you think you've had enough of that?" He's probably right. I don't even know what day it is. I should stop. The drink was pulled from my hand, I watched the man leave only seeing his somewhat tall and muscular silhouette diverge out of my indistinct vision. I was now unescorted within a sea of obscurity.

"Gorgeous, but, it's missing something." Lana adjudicated. I took a fulfilling spin in the slender mirror that faced us. The divine, audacious gown flowed with such finesse I couldn't help but stare at my own reflection. Lana left swiftly and returned with a small pendant in her hand, she softly clasped the elegant lavalliere around my naked collar. "That's much better." I smiled softly and gave Lana's hand a gentle squeeze. "It's magnificent." Christina says supportively, I grin widely "I agree!"

I hauled my drained body away from the heaps of people that had me choked, only to be met with my wasted friends whom are lounging comfortably at a table. Lana perks up at the sight of me emerging from the crowd. "Sophieee!" Lana's giddily slurred over the unnecessarily loud music. In an attempt to think straight I mustered a string of words "When. Where did.. you guys go?". "I don't really know! I mean... like we went... and then... bar." Christina stutters profusely. It was clear that they were more hopeless than me. "Where did that guy go?" I ask desperately "who..?" Lana tilts her head at my question "Never mind." I briefly snap a view of my surroundings in hope of seeing the mysterious man that had stolen my drink, but with my luck, there was no avail.

Who was he...? A man I'd known for a matter of 10 minutes has left me in baffling trail of questions to be asked, I had more inquires than answers. This singular individual has left a bitter sweet taste down my tongue and left me wanting more, almost as if he's tempting me to follow him down this new rabbit hole. Nevertheless, the chances of finding him within this immense club are slim.

"Lana, Chris we're going." I took the executive decision before we become even more intoxicated. "Oh Sophieeee don't spoil the funnn!" Lana wails in my ear "yeah Sophie!" Christina chips in mockingly. I scowl as they refuse to leave their seats "Comn' before you make more... stupid decisions." They both frown but cease their revolt and nonchalantly follow in my footsteps. Eventually, we perilously hook a taxi and - at a sluggish pace - make our way back to our apartments. I throw my murky belongings on the kitchen floor without any consideration and collapse into the safety of my bed.

Tomorrow's hangover will hit me hard.
