The worst thing about dying was knowing that I couldn't cradle you in my arms, whispering in your ear, "It'll all be okay," once I was gone. Meeting you was a miracle, loving you was both a blessing and a curse. But, I never regretted it, I regretted nothing.I lived exactly how I wanted to; that's how I found you.

Daniel -"Just the usual, Pam," I said with a light smile —every day for the last four years, the same black coffee, with a ham and cheese croissant. I waited patiently, yet eager to sip the rich liquid and consume the bite of the mouth-watering croissant I so longed for, same as every other morning. I tapped my foot on the floor repeatedly, eyes locked on the floor where my gray Converses bounced.
"Hey, Dani, order up." Pam half-yelled for my attention.
"Oh, thanks, Pam." I grinned, stepping up to the counter to grab the hot container of caffeine and breakfast sandwich. My eyes scanned the rest of the counter to make sure I didn't forget anything, unlike other times. I turn to walk out of the shop when I collide with a firm individual —I dropped my coffee and barely caught the croissant in my grip. I squeeze my eyes shut as the tingling of needles creeps up my skin.
"Hey, I'm sorry. Are you alright?" The soft voice chimed in my ear, almost like a sweet melody. Something that you could get addicted to; attraction was inevitable, like the thin pages of a book, or a candle to roaring flame.
Looking up, I meet the gaze of two bright emeralds, twinkling in the morning's sun. I freeze my movements almost immediately; I don't think I've ever seen such a beautiful sight. A man, presumably around my age, stood before me. With his bold jade green irises and messy blonde hair that flows down half of his neck; he's dressed quite casually, in a large beige sweater, and matching coffee brown jeans.
I blinked several times, not even sparing a quick "sorry." Trapped in my trance, my heart felt like it was on fire, thumping out of my chest. The inferno in my body took over the feeling in my heart, and my brain was going numb. Slowly as the erupting flame within myself started to subside, I realized something.
"Oh, I'm so, so sorry! It was my fault, my bad!" I bowed my head down to show my apologies. I looked up at the stranger, only to get a reaction that I didn't expect. The stranger was smiling, showing his wonderfully shiny pearls.
"Don't worry about it, I should have been paying more attention as well," he said, the smile still remaining on his face. "I'm Caleb. And you?"
"Oh, uhm, Daniel," I muttered, observing as his smile quickly morphed into an even bigger one.
"Daniel.." He whispered, "Well, nice to meet you."
