Alexis Riggs

While monday rolled around, I dreaded it honestly but who doesn't? As I arrived, and waited around for first period to finally start, I sat in the hallways to be myself with my music. I placed earbuds in, and leaned my back against the lockers, minutes passed probably, until someone tapped my foot, I flinched, holding onto my chest. Opening my eyes to see his blue ones, he chuckled.

"you scared me." My chest heaved, startled. "Sorry about Styles yesterday. He clearly has no manners." I brushed it off, as he spoke. "No worries, was everything okay?" I asked, he than made himself comfortable beside me, grunting. "I have a question." I scooted, giving him space.
"And I may have an answer." I waited a minute before responding.  "How come you're not scared of me? I mean everyone here knows I'm in a gang. And you seem to be the only one beside Tatum obviously that isn't scared? Why?" I messed with the strings on her hoodie before answering. "Cause I've known you since you moved here.
Honestly it's stupid that some are scared. Considering you've been here forever." I looked around before back at him.

His head hit the metal gently. "Huh. Never thought of it that way. It is stupid." The five minute bell rung, and I stood up. "You coming?" My head tilted, he shook his head. "Nope, I'm skipping." I bit the inside of my cheek and swung my bag over my shoulder, "Would you wanna skip with me?" Stupid thing to ask, I was a goody goody after all.  "Ha! You're funny." I scoffed, before helping him up. "Still wanted to ask." Right as I wanted to say something my look softened, once someone walked past us. "I'll see you later." I smiled, and walked off to class.

Thankfully Tatum was there, to get my mind off things.
Not too mention, there was a substitute, so that meant study hall. I pulled my assignments out for my next classes and started to get caught up on everything and even to be ahead in those periods. Did I at times get teased for it? Yes. Which is stupid and never bothered me, if I'm telling the truth.

As I get lost in the work, I almost don't even notice Tatum kicking my leg to get my attention. Removing the earbud from my left ear, I pause the music. "What?" She leaned closer, to whisper back. "Are you okay?" I nodded, my brows met together, confused as why she would even ask that. "Yeah, why?" I sat up straight, fixing my posture, something that needed to be fixed, daily. She shrugged as if not believing it for a second, I coukd tell.

"Just wondering, you seem different. But, I saw you and Niall. What's going on there?" She smirked, as she made her eyebrows dance, flirty. I scoffed before replying back.
"Nothing. We hung out Sunday-" She cut me off, her eyes widened. "Uh you did what? And you didn't tell me?" She fixed her body language now all front to me. Leaning her elbows on her knees, the smirk never left. I rolled my eyes and chuckled. "It wasn't like that. I ran into him at a diner and he wanted me to stay and hang out. Nothing serious."

"So you're telling me, you don't think he's cute at all?"
Her brows lifted, I sighed, frustrated. "Never said that. He is a very attractive guy. But I'm clearly not his type."
That made her laugh. "Girl is his type." She corrected, and with that, comment it made me giggle. "Okay, John Tucker." She winked, glad that I caught onto her movie reference. "You may continue." She guesstured down to my work, allowing me my peace and quiet.

I placed the headphone in and continued to work until the bell rung. My foot began tapping with the beat of the music, and my fingers tapping along on my thigh as well, reading over the questions and answering them for my science class. Something that was easy for me, along with history. Math? I'm dead. My worst subject, others I pass completely fine with.
