"That'd be my daddy's name,"

The Ghoul paused his snooping, an interested grin spreading on his face as he kept his back to her. She wasn't the one he was after, but she could help him find the one he was.

"Is that so missy?" He slowly turned toward the woman who was still staring at him, her gaze questioning.

" 'fraid you won't find him around here though, he dipped town ages ago,"

He drew closer to Jamboree and the movement almost made her feel like she was prey being stalked, she fought the urge to take a step back.

Jamboree wasn't the kind of person who was easily intimidated, she was more than capable of standing her ground. However, something about the commanding presence the dark clad cowboy made her heart race.

The ghoul was now less than a foot away from her and she had to crane her neck to peer up at him. Jamboree furrowed her eyebrows and squinted up at him in an attempt to look a little less intimidated than she felt, although she was sure he knew already.

"Well ain't that something," the ghoul drawled, a lazy smile making its way onto his face as an idea crossed his mind.

Jamboree eyed him warily, it was clear that something was happening in his head and she was hoping it wasn't shooting her. She had no idea where her father was which definitely meant she was of little to no use to the man standing there.

His hand was on his gun again as a silent threat. Oh boy, she gulped, her palms were sweating again. The ghoul was eyeing her like she was some sweet treat.

"Now the real question, sweetheart," The ghoul paused, reveling in the way Jamboree was squirming. "Are we gonna do this the easy way... or the hard way?"

Jamboree winced, her twitching hands fighting the urge to snatch her revolver from her holster.

Fuck. He definitely thinks I know more than I do... Taking a deep breath, she steadied herself.

"You want me to lead you to him?" She questioned, trying to hide the shakiness in her voice. Truth be told, she had tried looking for her father before and had turned up nothing even close to revealing where he had fucked off too.

The ghoul didn't even grace the question with an answer, merely stepped behind her with his hand on his hip, gloved fingers wrapping around the grip of his gun.

"Ya want me to lead you to him now?" Jamboree couldn't help the incredulous tone that crept into her voice. This was not how she thought this day was going to go, at all. She felt him nudge her forward, the movement enough to tell her he did, in fact, mean right now. Sighing, she turned so she was facing him again.

"Alright alright," Jamboree stuck her hands up in front of her in a placating gesture before she started toward the bag on the dining table. The bag held everything she used for her little journeys and no doubt she'd need it this time.

Placing her hat on her head once again she headed towards the door, her bang slung over her shoulder. Jamboree stopped and turned to face the ghoul who was still standing in her kitchen, a bewildered expression on his skeletal face.

"I thought I was leadin' ya?" Jamboree questioned, her eyebrows raising at the ghoul who just stared at her.

He cleared his throat and started after her, his heavy boots making the weary floorboards creak.

"You're makin' this far easier than my usual kidnaps," he chuckled before holding the door open for her. The sudden gesture of chivalry made Jamboree stop her tracks, blinking at his hand on the doorknob before she snapped back to her senses.
