The next week flew by, with guilt swallowing Changbin up whole.
Jisung had been doing so much for him, and it hurt having to watch him go through so much labor. It felt like his hands were trapped, like he couldn't do anything about it, and sadly, that was the literal truth.
They were still having fun, joking around and spending as much time as they could together. Jisung left a few times to go visit his family, and Hyunjin came over to be there for him instead.
Phases like these were really able to show you who's a real friend and who's not, and Changbin for sure knew that Hyunjin cared endlessly about him. After this was over, he promised himself he'd give him something back.
His appointment to take the casts off was as soon as tomorrow. He knew after that, he'll need some time to get used to walking again and using his arms properly, but he was ready to take on that challenge. After all, he still had an entire week to spend with Jisung, and he wanted that week to be the most romantic thing ever.
His excitement to finally not need a wheelchair to move anymore was beyond this world. And after having to experience this, his respect for people who have to use one for their entire lives grew beyond anyone's imagination.
Right now him and Jisung were in bed, the sky black and dark, night having wrapped itself around the day. The younger was nuzzling himself onto him, breathing softly and being soundly asleep.
Besides those initial kisses on the first day when he was asleep and the cuddles, they have not been physical one bit. Not a single kiss.
Jisung was too shy to initiate anything and being honest, Changbin didn't feel in the right mind to ask for any kisses either. Maybe, he was even grateful that they weren't physical at all that week. He wanted to make 100% sure the younger knew that he wasn't in it for the physical things, but for him as a person.

On their way to the hospital the next morning, Changbin and Jisung were sitting in the back of the car while Hyunjin was driving.
The two had thanked Hyunjin probably a hundred times for helping them out, and he simply did not know how to make them understand it truly wasn't a problem or a hassle to him.
Perfectly on time for their appointment, the boy's still had to wait outside in the waiting room for over half an hour until they were called.
Inside the room with the doctor, the excitement for all three of them arose immensely, but of course, Changbin was the most excited and anticipating.
He had some small talk with the doctor, which explained to him that he'll be needing crutches after taking off his casts until he could properly walk again. Not having used his legs in so long, it was sure going to be a struggle to get back into it. Though his 1-year-old baby-self had managed to learn how to walk, he thought, so as an adult, he was sure he was going to be able to do it as well.
