The next morning you find yourself in your brand new kitchen in your brand new home. It was everything you ever wanted it to be. Exactly the style of decoration and furniture you always dreamed of. (You had a gut feeling your own intentions and vibes helped shape the place.)
On the counter next to you sat the electric kettle, boiling some water for you. Besides the noises the device made, it was still nice and quiet. You cherished this silence. From what Hunter and RF mentioned to you yesterday, you weren't so sure if this silence would last-
Anyhow, as the water came to a boil, RF trudged into the kitchen in nothing but a blue sleeping robe, pyjama pants and slippers. He was still sporting quite the bedhead and supressing a yawn.
"Morning," you greeted him.
"Morning;" he mumbled back, "You making coffee?"
"The elixir of life, yes." You nodded.
He adjusted the robe around his shoulders slightly. "Can you pour me one too?"
You smiled, already having guessed where this was gonna go.
"Sure."
You grabbed a mug and put some instant coffee powder in there too. You reached for some creamer as well, when his metal hand suddenly snatched your wrist.
You flinched from the sudden cold contact and tried to pull your hand back, but he didn't let go.
"No." He said, with a stern look in his eyes that undoubtedly left no room for discussion.
"No creamer?" You asked, just to be sure.
"No. Creamer," was his only (and equally as stern) reply.
"Alright, alright. Sugar then?" You swallowed your nervousness as best as you could.
Suddenly his deameanor went completely back to normal and he released your wrist from his iron grip. Pun intended.
"Yeah, sugar is fine."
You took a deep breath and nodded, trying to sound cheerful and unbothered.
"Okidoki!"
Soon enough both cups of coffee were prepared and sat upon the kitchen table. You sat down across from RF, who still struggled to wake up fully. Gee, how long was he up last night?
He rubbed one of his eyes, looking at you through the other.
"Hunter asked me to show you around this place today. There's a few things about this dimension you need to know, in order to work with it properly."
You nodded and took a sip of your coffee.
"Sure. I mean, I know how up-keep a house, so how bad can it be?"
"Ehh... I wouldn't say that." RF copied your action. "Since this isn't a universe per se, it's a little... Uh, liminal."
You cocked a brow.
"You're telling me I have the backrooms in my basement?"
"That-" He pointed a finger at you. "-actually hits the nail on the head. Plus a few additional 'quirks' to your front door and upper floors."
You stared at him dead-eyed for a solid minute.
"Remind me to never go down there by myself-"
He chuckled and nodded.
"Smart idea. Especially because of the monsters down there. Although--"
"Hold on, MONSTERS-??"
He waved you off, disgruntled that you interrupted him.
