PART 7

Jinora woke up from another sleepless night ready to work. This project was going to get done, and it was going to be great. She told herself this multiple times to soothe her nerves before getting ready do the day.
Jinora may have put a little extra thought in her appearance that day, not purposefully but subconsciously. She left to head to the palace, and on her way there she bumped into Kai.
"Hi" Jinora said hoping not to sound to eager. She then noticed his eyes looked bloodshot, as if he had been crying. He looked defeated, and not at all his usual self. "Can I talk to you?" She needed to talk to him about this project.
"Look why are you even talking to me? I thought you were mad."
"I'm over that now, we sort of. But this is important..." She placed her hand on his shoulder, trying to get him to listen.
"Look she rejected me okay? Is that what you wanted, for me to get my heart broken? She had been seeing some guy all along." He said angrily whipping around to avoid Jinora's grasp.
"I never wanted that... I was just upset...."
"Sure you didn't want it to happen. You must think it's pretty good payback to see my heart broken after what I did to you."
"Kai," Jinora pleaded. "I never wanted that, I was going to tell you..."
"What do you mean tell me?" He said glaring at her angrily. Then she realesed, Camille never told him that she knew about her cheating. How was she going to get out of this rut?
"What do you mean?!" Kai said louder this time.
"Well... I don't know how to say this but I knew. Camille told me she was cheating on you."
"WHAT? Why didn't you tell me?!" Kai said furiously. "If you had told me none of this would've happened! How long have you known?"
"Not very long, and I tried to tell you yesterday!"
"Trying doesnt matter, this just proves that you wanted to see me get rejected like this. The perfect form of payback THAT must of been."
Jinora was starting to get angry. Did he really think she was that shallow?
"I told you, I tried to tell you, but you wouldn't talk to me."
"Well if you really cared you would have made me listen" Jinora stared at him. If only he knew.
"Maybe if you would actually listen to me you would've found out!"
"You stopped talking to me first!"
Jinora couldn't take it anymore, she began to cry. Silently looking at Kai, she noticed a fleeting expression, was it concern? Her vision was too blurred. She ran away, completely forgetting about work. She couldn't go like this, and she didn't think she would be able to face Kai ever again.
