"Tooru!" Nagai, the invisible girl's mother, exclaimed and hugged her daughter with joy.

Tooru hugged her back just as tightly and turned to drag Izuku further into the house than just the entrance. "I brought Izuku just like I said!"

Nagai smiled warmly and hugged Izuku just as she did with her daughter. "Welcome, please make yourself at home! I'm so happy to have you two be able to join us for New Year's. I can't imagine how busy you guys must be with being students and all the training." She said all the while smiling and pushing them into the living room.

Izuku felt flustered at the warm welcome and then abruptly moved to sit across from Tooru's father who was under a kotatsu, a heated table covered with a blanket. Tooru hugged her father just as tightly as she did previously with her mother. He felt a pang of jealousy at seeing such a close family but shoved that thought away viciously. Makoto, Tooru's father, greeted Izuku with a smile.

"How are you two doing?" He looked between the two teens. "I don't have to worry about any unexpected grandchildren, do I?"

"Dad!" Tooru exclaimed and slapped her father's arm in embarrassment.

Izuku's face bloomed in heat just as much as Tooru's by his estimation due to all the thermal energy radiated from her. "No!" He quickly said.

Nagai chuckled softly and set down a tray of tea and cookies for everyone. She bopped her husband on the head as she joined them under the blanket. "Leave them be, I'm sure they are being responsible. Right?" She paused at mid-pour and looked between the two. She smiled and continued pouring tea at the expression on Izuku's face and the noise Tooru made. "Good."

The two adults teased Izuku and Tooru for a bit longer then moved on to talking about more mundane things like the grocery store that was being built near their home or the gossip around the neighborhood. The family included Izuku in every conversation and asked him for his opinion. He felt warmth fill his chest and it wasn't just from the heated table they sat at. He felt the missing piece of being in a family that he missed for so long, slot into place when he spent time with Tooru and her parents. He smiled more and more as the day passed. Not once did they bring up why Izuku was spending New Year's with them instead of his own family and he was relieved for the lack of questions. He had to wonder if Tooru told them in advance some bits and pieces of his past or just told them not to ask questions, either way he was happy.

Nagai and Tooru shooed Izuku out of the kitchen when he offered to help cook dinner. He didn't try and fight them and just sat with Makoto on the couch. They chatted about some politics and Izuku gave his opinion on the topics, though his usual cold responses were watered down greatly compared to what he had said before at UA.

When dinner was eaten and everyone was set to go to bed after letting the food settle, Nagai spoke up about the sleeping arrangement. "How do you guys want to do this?" When she got confused looks from the two teens, she rolled her eyes and huffed out a breath of amusement. With a smirk, she looked at the two. "You've been sleeping under the same roof for months, can either of you two look me in the eye and tell me neither of you snuck into the other's bed at night?"

Izuku's face heated and he looked away while Tooru squeaked softly. "We haven't done anything!" She exclaimed loudly.

"I never said you did, but I know my daughter. Sleep however you like is all I'm saying." She said grinning and patted Makoto's arm as they made their way to their room. He made a sound of protest but he was hushed by his wife.

Tooru huffed and then after a quiet moment between the two just standing there she grabbed Izuku's arm. "Come on, I haven't shown you my room yet." She looked back at him and smiled at him.
