Jace POV

I let out a sigh passing my hand trough my hair brushing off the excess water,
it is pouring heavily today I guessed I was right yesterday when I told Aluna it was gonna rain today.
I couldn't sleep all night because every time I closed my eyes I kept getting images of her tied to that chair.
I have done many bad things in my life due to my job but I have never hurt or assisted in hurting a female.
I just hope Aluna is okay because I'm really not going to forgive myself if anything bad happens to her because at the end of the day I was hired by Theo to be her bodyguard not to hurt her.
I made my way into the house taking off my jacket putting it on the hanger because it was drenched.

"Hey Jace."
Theo said coming down the stairs.

"Good day boss is Aluna ready for work?"
I asked.

"Actually she is not feeling well today,"
He said making my smile turn into a frown.

"But I will like you to hang around the house and make sure she eats and get enough rest."
He said before walking away.

Soon as he drove away I headed up the stairs to her room.
Slowly opening her room door quietly walking in not wanting to wake her up.
But she woke up instantly by the sound of my footsteps approaching her bed.
She was startled a bit at first but instantly calm down when she saw it was me.

"Good morning Aluna,"
"How are you feeling, Theo said you weren't feeling well?"
"What happened?"
"Did he hurt you last night?"

"No, I'm fine, my anxiety is going crazy that's all."
She said to me while staring at the wall.

"Are you sure Aluna?"
"Don't lie to me because I'm sure something happened, I left you tied to a chair for god sake."
I said sitting on the bed.

"Nah, I just sat there for an hour just listening to him talk, that's all."
She said smiling faintly.

"Okay well I'm outside if you need anything."
I said leaving her to rest,
she probably had a terrible night, tied to that chair.
Probably listening to Theo talk about god now's what.
As I left her room I saw Dave, the other bodyguard who guards her door sitting in a chair in the corner of the hall.

"You're late."
I said approaching him.

"Yeah I had to give doctor James a ride home."
"how is Aluna doing?"
He asked concern making me look at him confused.
Why is he asking about her?
But then thinking about it everyone in the house has really gotten to like Aluna a lot.
Everyday after work she stops and buys coffee and donuts for the guys guarding the property.
She always jokes saying she is going to get them fat, so the day she decides to make a run for it they can't catch up to her.

"Aluna is ok, she is resting."
I said to him.

"Thank god she is ok,"
"when I saw the boss carrying her up to the room I swear she was seriously hurt,"
"her body looked lifeless in his hands."
Dave said to me.

"what exactly happened last night?"
I asked Dave confused as fuck.

"Boss came upstairs carrying Aluna in his hands."
"He looked panicked."
"he shouted for us to call the doctor."
"I over heard the doctor saying something this morning about her legs being hurt."
"I'm not sure what exactly happened to her."
Dave said shaking his head.

I instantly walked back into her bedroom closing the door behind me.
She was sitting on the edge of the bed looking out the window watching the rain.
She turned looking at me confused as I walked over to her lifting her dress looking at her leg.

My eyes widened in shook seeing two small scars and a huge bruise that looked like a hand print on her leg.

Suddenly I was instantly connected with a punch straight to my face making me fall back on the floor.

"What the fuck are you doing lifting my dress like that!"
She shouted at me.

"You broke my nose Aluna."
I said getting up stumbling towards the washroom,
As blood began to flow out off my nose.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to hit you that hard"
"But asked before you go lifting up a girls dress!"
She said following me.

"Is everything okay?"
Dave asked entering the room.

"I accidentally punched him in his nose"
She said to Dave with a little smirk on her face.

"Well nice shot"
Dave said giving her a high five.

"You guys are unbelievable"
I said managing to stop the bleeding walking back out the washroom.

"Can you excuse us for a moment Dave I will like to speak to Aluna alone."
I said watching as Dave left the room still grinning.

"What happened last night?"
"I thought you said nothing happened?"
"What did he do to you?"
I asked her as the grin on her face turned into a frown.

"he's a monster Jace."
"He literally tased me on my legs,"
"wanting to hear me beg,"
"he wanted me to apologize for my attitude towards him."
"I refused to show him any mercy,"
"making him get angrier holding the taser to my leg until I passed out."
"He said if I disobey him again he will do much worse to me."
She said as a tear ran down her face.

"I'm sorry Aluna,"
"I really don't know what to say."
I said looking at her shaking my head.
suddenly I was interrupted by her phone ringing it was an unknown number, usually I don't let her answer unknown numbers but today I decided to.

"Answer."
I said to her putting the phone on speaker listening in as she answered with a confused look on her face.

"Hello."

"Hi I'm calling from the Los Angeles Medical Center I'm looking for Mis Aluna Zane."

"Speaking."

"Hi miss Aluna I was giving your number as a next of kin by your uncle Joe Goosen, "
"I'm sorry to inform you but your uncle suffered a heart attack three days ago."
The woman said.

"And why am I being informed so late, why wasn't I contacted on the day of his heart attack."
Aluna asked.

"Because your uncle was unconscious these past few days he only woke up a while ago giving us your number."

"Is he going to be ok?"
"Was the heart attack massive or...."

"It was a mild heart attack miss Zane, he is stable and progressing well."
"He will be discharged probably in a day or two and Simone needs to be here to pick him up."
The woman said.

"Thank you for informing me I will try my best to be there."
Aluna said as I hung up.

"God."
Aluna said taking a deep breath looking up at the ceiling.

"This is not good."
"I'm the only family my uncle Joe has left,"
"he has no one else,"
"Theo will never let me go."
She said as a tear rolled down her face.

"I'm sorry Aluna."
"I wish there was a way I could help you."

"They are ways you can help me but you chose not to."
She said walking by the window putting her hand against the window watching as rain drops battered  against the glass.

"I'm just doing my job Aluna."
I said before leaving the room.
