Hazel's POV

I pull into the parking lot of my tattoo shop. I turn off my truck and get out. I walk into the shop and see Blaze working on a client and Jenna at the front desk working on some drawings. "You okay you don't look so good"? Jenna asks looking up from her drawing book. "Yeah I'm fine, just surprised is all". "By what is everything okay" Jenna asks? "Yeah, some mafia boss wants to give me an offer to train fighters for him". "Holy shit are you talking about Jasper Hudson, the guy who owns half this town and your ex?" Blaze chimes in knowing his client has headphones on and can't hear anything. "Yup that would be the one". Blaze has been friends with me and my brother since childhood. He has seen me through the worst of things I've been through. "What did you say?" Jenna asks? "I haven't talked to him yet, he only knows that there's a woman that's a trainer named Shorty that has great fighters, he sent his right hand to tell me to meet him at the bar at 10". "Are you gonna go" Blaze asks? "Hell yeah, I'm gonna. I'm gonna surprise him, let him see that I'm Shorty and then maybe get a few hits in and some colorful words, then I'll refuse to work with him and leave". "But is that what you want" Jenna asks? "Yeah I mean he doesn't have a right to just waltz right back into my life and take over everything I've built for myself". "But if it's a good offer you might wanna consider taking it I mean you never know it could be your next big step in life" Blaze says. "When did you grow a pussy and start talking with it"? "I didn't. I'm just saying consider instead of flat turning him down see what he can offer, if you can use it go for it, if you can't then say no and leave" Blaze says finishing up with his clients tattoo. I roll my eyes and we all stop talking when Blaze's client takes his headphones off. I head to my office and sit behind my desk thinking about everything that could happen later tonight. I shake my head and turn on my computer to keep myself busy until I have to meet jasper. A few hours roll by and it's 9;30. I sigh and get up from my chair grabbing my purse. I walk out of my office and down the hallway into the main part of the tattoo shop. "I'll be back in an hour or so". "Okay be safe" Blaze and Jenna call out to me as I walk out of the shop. I get to midnight and stop at the door to collect myself. God, I should just turn around. I don't have to face him, I can just go back to my tattoo shop and forget all about Jasper. No, no he should be the one running away not me. This is my home and I won't back down from him no matter how nerve racking it may be. I open the door and walk to the bar. Katey, one of the old ladies walks over to me "hey shouldn't you be at the tattoo shop I wasn't expecting to see you"  Katey says smiling at me. Katey is one of my best friends. "Yeah it was a last minute thing, you haven't seen a tall dark mafia boss named jasper hudson have you"? "I think I'm the one you're looking for, little lady" I hear someone say from behind me. I know that voice anywhere, I know that when I turn around I'm going to see jasper hudson in all his glory. I smile and suck my teeth. A little annoyed he called me "little lady". I look at Katey ''I'll take a rum and coke please". "No problem I got you, but do you need me to call Blaine? Katey says. Blaine is Katey's husband; he's also one of the bouncers. "No I'm fine Katey". Katey starts to make my rum and coke as I smile. Without a second thought I spin on my toes and face the one and only Jasper hudson. I'm lost for words as I take in Jasper and how much he's changed. Jasper is taller, he's got some stubble on his face. He's more built in the chest. He's wearing a gray button up with black suit pants and shiny black shoes. "Hazel," Jasper asks, confused as he hasn't put together what i'm doing here. "Ten years has done a lot for you". Jasper stares blankly at me.

Jasper's POV

I walked into midnight thinking I was meeting a woman named shorty. I walked up to the bar to see Katey talking to a woman that was asking about me. But I had no idea who would turn around and face me. Hazel, a girl I loved with all of my heart stands in front of me. She's dyed her hair from her dark brown to a dark blue color. She's skinnier but she has more curves to her than she did ten years ago. There's a bullness in her eyes that wasn't there when I left. "Hazel"? She smiles "good to know you remember me". She's beautiful and all I can think about is grabbing her and pulling her against me. I go to do just that but Hazel backs away, taking her seat at the bar. "Oh no you don't get to touch me, this isn't about our past this is about you having an offer for me" Hazel says and i shake my head coming back to my senses. "I'm supposed to meet a woman named Shorty for the offer". "You're looking at her, you're not the only one that has changed" Hazel says, picking up her drink and sipping on it. I take the seat next to her. Katey brings me a beer. "So what's this offer your second and command almost demanded me to hear?"  Hazel asks, her tone changing.
