*Second Person's POV*

Jisoo sat on a bench near the Han River, inhaling the cold wind. The night had just started to fall, and she felt so happy and content to be there. Her heart was so at peace that nothing in the world bothered her. She could see different people, people who just got off their jobs, students who just finished classes, young couples walking side by side with their hands interlocked, parents laughing around with their kids, and old people who came for a walk and such on. Every view made her feel more comfortable.

It wasn't until long that a girl, around the same age as her, walked up to her. She was panting as if she ran there. When Jisoo looked up, her eyes met yours, and you straightened your pose.

"Do you mind if I sit here?" You asked slowly.

"Sure." Jisoo said, smiling at you, but your face had a blank expression.

You sat down next to her. Jisoo noticed that you were constantly sighing, and your face was puffy. She couldn't help but feel curious about you. You were staring into the distance, not noticing anything else, but little did she know you were watching her.

"Are you waiting for someone?" Jisoo asked, unable to contain her curiosity to know you.

"Huh?" You asked again, though you clearly heard her.

"You seem like you are waiting for someone. Are you?"

You nodded, sighing. Your head hung low.

"May I ask who?" She asked again, feeling the rush to know more. She couldn't think of another instance she felt this urge to know someone.

After a few minutes of silence, you swallowed hard and spoke. "My wife."

"Oh." That's all she said first. "I'm Jisoo, by the way."

You raised your head to look at her, and your red eyes met her dark orbs again. She was beautiful. You wanted to cry.

"Y/N." You whispered.

"That's a nice name. What do you do?" You watched her face lit up.

"I am a/an [Your Job/Dream Job]."

"Your wife?" She asked after a while. Your eyes were still on her.

"She was a teacher. Not anymore."

"What happened?"

You turned your gaze back to the ground. You couldn't hold your tears anymore. She felt a pang in her heart to see you cry and couldn't help but feel responsible for your tears. "She's– she's sick." You let out, wiping your tears. She watched you intently. You took a deep sigh and spoke again, "She was, um, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's last year."

She felt bad for asking you.

"It must be hard." She mumbled, and you hummed.

Silence wrapped around you, and it made her uncomfortable.

"How are you holding up?" She finally asked.

You nodded and spoke quietly just loud enough for her to catch the words. "Sometimes, she can't even remember her name, let alone me." You swallowed again, and a tear rolled down your cheeks. "But even when she can't remember herself, she seems to remember one place." You took another deep breath. "Where we first met."

"Really? Where?"

Your lips were trembling. You blinked constantly to ease the stinging in your eyes. "Here." You whispered at last. "On this bench."

Jisoo raised an eyebrow. You turned your eyes back to meet hers. You looked at her helplessly.

"Let's go home, Honey. It's getting late." You whispered. Jisoo couldn't understand. She was put in a trance. Who are you? Why were you calling her 'Honey'? Which home are you talking about? She couldn't understand. She couldn't remember. Nevertheless, she felt like she could trust you. Her heart said so. She nodded, and you got up. She followed.

She walked slowly a few steps behind you. Her face was blank.

Your life was perfect just a few years back. You fell in love at first sight. The feelings were mutual. The time you spent together was magical. You just couldn't have enough of each other. All your friends were envious of your relationship. You had so many things you wanted to do together. You were even having plans to have kids together when the tragedy hit you.

Dementia. The fucking disease was slowly eating her up. You started noticing it when she started to misplace things. Though she wasn't a clean freak, she was always organized. Then she started to forget the little things like turning off faucets, the way she used to go daily, the names of people, and such on. At first, both of you thought she was just stressed, but then the wave struck you.

Jisoo was devastated when she heard her diagnosis. She knew what the disease could do to one person, moreover what it could do to their loved ones, which in this case was you. She tried to push you away at first, but you were adamant. You didn't promise forever to let her suffer alone. No matter how much it hurt, you wanted to stay; for her, for your love.

As you walked down the path, you felt her clinging to your hands. You knew she was remembering you.

"Y/N?" She called.

"Mmm."

"Where were we?" Her voice was filled with concern and innocence.

You caressed her hand, which was over yours. "We went for a date, my love."

"Really?" You nodded. "Then, why can't I remember anything?"

You smiled at her. The same smile you have been giving her whenever she'd remember you these days. "You are probably just stressed, my love. And there was nothing worth memorable."

She looked at you offended. "Don't say that. Every moment with my girlfriend is memorable to me." Tears swelled up in your eyes. You could see how much she meant it. You stopped walking and cupped her face.

"I love you, Jisoo. Forever. I love you so much, Baby." You said, tears rolling down your cheeks again.

"I love you too, Y/N." She responded and pecked your lips. You pulled her closer and deepened the kiss.

You lived for moments like this. The moments where you could see the love in her eyes one more time, the love for you. Sometimes, you were her wife, sometimes still a girlfriend, and other times, a stranger. It didn't matter how many times you lived through it. Your heart always bleeds when she gets distant. But you are helpless. There was nothing left for you to do other than to love her and wait for her. So, you will continue to do so. You will love her, hold her, and tell her how precious she's to you until an angel comes and takes her away from you to a paradise. Because you promised her you'd, and she was worth every promise.
