MELISSA'S POV*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Me and Kathryn are racing to the bottom of our glasses, I win, obviously, and she slams her cup down in frustration.

I watch Kath turn to a light haired man and fall easily into conversation. At this point, my vision is slightly blurry, but I'm sober enough to know what's going on. I wander towards the dancefloor where I see Taz swishing her hips in the middle, surrounded by a huge bunch of people cheering her on. She spots me and reaches through the crowd, dragging me into the space. We dance together to the rhythm, the drink I inhaled a few minutes ago fills me with just enough confidence. The beat drop sends screams through the crowd and my head spins.

Until I sober up completely. The door is propped open, and the foot holding it belongs to someone that makes the hairs on my body stand upright.

Lily.

She looks so fucking edible.

I shove my way out of the huge mass of people, towards the girl I'd only just gotten out of my head. I'm meant to be icing her out.

Fuck it.

I got closer and closer until I froze in my step. The person she was holding the door for finally tumbled into her arms, her head thrown back, cackling wildly.

Sandy.

Her hair was floating behind her from the draft, the jacket she came in was draped around Lily's shoulders, her cowboy boots slid across the floor, resulting in even more laughter from the both of them. I stood watching in a state of shock as they walked out entangled with eachother, like their evening started, and ended, with eachother. They looked like two simple romantics, her arms around her shoulders, the others arm gripping onto her waist.

The door slammed shut and the draft hit me in the face, bringing me back to consciousness. My best friend just left with the girl I want.

But how is she to know, right? I'm sure Lily is just taking her home.

Doubt fills my head, just as I feel something else fill my stomach. I sprint to the toilet and throw up every drop of liquid I consumed today. Locking the cubicle behind me I held my own hair back and slid down the wall slowly. Without even a second passing I was up again and in the bar, the time on my phone read 12:15AM.

I spot my friends at the door, searching for me. Once Kathryn's gaze held mine she nodded and reached out for my hand, and pulled me out the door.

We jump into an uber together, the destination is Sandys. As long as Sandy hasn't brought Lily back here, it should all be fine.

We get to her house and the lights are off, the front door locked. I pull up my flashlight and point it at her giant plant pot on the floor, lifting it up slightly to reveal the silver key she keeps for emergencies. I slide the key into the lock, my head still slightly buzzing from the amount of alcohol I consumed tonight. I flick the light on as Kath and Kerri have a giggly Taz draped across them both. The kitchen is undisturbed and we walk through to the front room, Kerri practically drags Taz onto the sofa, both of them cackling.

'Where the fuck is Saaaannnnndyyyyyyy' Taz slurs

'I'm not sure. Probably met someone and went to theirs' I comment

'Can we stay here anyway. She won't mind' Kathryn pipes up from the kitchen.

'Yeah obviously' There's no way any of us can drive back home and three separate uber journeys on a teachers salary? As if.

With Sandys house being our usual crash pad, we walk to our designated spots to sleep. Mine is usually sharing a bed with Sandy, but as she's not currently here I can starfish on her king size bed. I'm gonna sleep so good tonight.
