Aiden called me over saying he needed to talk to me about something and he sounded pretty eager.. when me and aiden are around eachother all we do is joke around because... well that's just who we are as people but when he calls me frantically i know something is wrong... or in his case... right?
Aiden ended up telling me he has a girlfriend named Xena "oh really" i say surprised
Aiden nods his head and smiles nervously "Y-Yeah...... we've been dating for a little while now and I think I'm falling for her...... but I can't help but feel a little bit guilty because......"
"because what aiden?" i say a bit irritated because he's beating around the bush
Aiden takes a deep breath and looks away for a moment, trying to gather his thoughts "Because...... because I still love you...... even though we haven't been together for a long time now, you still have a place in my heart and I can't just turn off my feelings for you like that."
i chuckle "we were never together so you can go be happy with xena, i promise i won't be mad, if being with her means your happy then i'm happy" i say truthfully
Aiden sighs and looks at me with a soft smile "Are you sure? I don't want to hurt you or make you feel like you're being replaced by someone else......"
"Aiden" i grab his hands "what ever makes you happy should always be the final decision... don't worry about my feelings because at the end of the day would i really be a real bestfriend if i constantly kept you from your own self made happiness?" i say
Aiden looked pretty touched by my words and he smiled at me warmly "You're right, you really are the best friend a person could ever ask for...... I promise that if anything were to happen between me and Xena, I'll always come to you first and tell you all about it. And I'll never leave you behind, no matter what."
"whatever floats your boat bubba" i say laughing
Aiden chuckles as well and squeezes my hands "I guess that's the end of our little talk then...... but before we go our separate ways, can I just ask you one thing?"
"yea sure wsp bug?" i ask
Aiden looked at me nervously and bites his lip "Well, I was just wondering...... if, hypothetically, you were in a relationship and I had no idea about it, would you tell me? Or would you just let me be oblivious to everything?" he asked hesitantly
i squint at him confused "why do you ask?"
Aiden chuckles nervously and looks away from me "I, uh...... it's kind of a weird question...... but if you're in a relationship and I ask you if you have a boyfriend or something, would you lie to me and say no? Or would you just tell me straight up?"
