your pov
I wake up to the door of my bedroom opening, I know who it is, it's lucy she does this sometimes. I feel the bed creek as she sits down.
"is there a reason you are in here waking me up on my day off?" I ask with a grogginess to my voice
"yeah, I wanna know what happened last night, you left like right after you talked to lopez, what happened?"
I roll over so i'm looking up at the ceiling, and lucy is tuned with her head resting on her hand looking at me.
"she found I out I like her, she overheard you and me talking about it in the bathroom" I chuckle
"what?! this is huge what did she say about it?" I can hear the excitement in her voice she's been pretty invested since I told her.
"well I figured out she knew, and she asked me why I didn't just tell her, and I said I scared that she would reject me, then she laughed and got up and asked me why I thought she would reject me then she walked away..sooo, she likes me too maybe? I dunno" I sigh
"she definitely does! this is so great!!" she sits up trying to pull me up with her
I laugh at her enthusiasm "even if she does we work at the same place, I don't think she'd go for it"
"you don't know if you never askkk, you should ask her out to a nice restauranttt" she playfully shakes me
"maybe," I smile
"not maybe do it tomorrow!" she basically demands
"we'll see, now let me go back to sleep" I lay down with a smile on my face
I want to ask her out obviously, she's gorgeous and funny and her laugh is infectious, but she really cares about her job and if she thinks it'll affect it she would never say yes to going on a date with me.

it's the next day and I walk into the locker room with lucy, we talk as we change into uniform.
"you think we'll be riding together?" I ask
"I don't know I hope so, maybe I can help you work up the courage to ask her!" she smiles
"ask who what?" angela questions sneaking up on both of us
I jump "geez, you scared me" purposely avoiding her question
"oh sorry I didn't realize you scared so easily," she says jokingly
"I don't," I chuckle
"I got to go," lucy smirks leaving me and angela alone
"so you didn't answer me, ask who what?" she questions again
"it's nothing," I lie not very well either
"you are an terrible liar" she replies with a smirk on her face
"ouch," I take my hand and pretend to stab it into my chest "you are just full of insults today"
"I pull out all the stops for you, but real talk life's to short to keep things in, you'll never get anywhere hiding things, especially from the people who care about you, and who knows you might get the result you're looking for," she pats me on the shoulder as she walks past
I sigh to myself, I don't know why i'm so nervous to ask her if she says no she says no and I can just move on with my life. I sit down next to lucy and nolan, grey is giving out tasks for the day.
