I FEEL HORRIBLE FOR Brandy. It feels like there's nothing I can do to make her feel better. In the four meaningful years that I have known this ray of sunshine, I have never seen her so solemn and down.

I've been doing little things to try and make Brandy feel better, but none of it has gotten her out of bed. From making her food, getting her coffee, comforting her the best I can, I genuinely can't tell if any of this is helping her. It's been a day since Andy and Jenson broke up, but I'm sure to her it's felt like decades of pain.

An idea struck my mind as the blonde's head lay in my lap, soft snores emitting from her. What if I called Hayden? Hayden, Brandy's best friend since kindergarten, would surely be comforting and provide support for her. I just damn hope she can come out all the way from Iowa City to Storrs.

hey, hayden. it's paige. dunno if you've talked to brandy lately but jenson broke up with her last night and she's really distraught. any way you can make it out here to visit? i'm sure it would cheer her up. i'll pay for your ticket don't even worry about it.

oh my god?? i had no idea, i've been really busy and haven't had the chance to talk to her in a couple days. i'm not sure why she didn't tell me. trust me, i will be there.

"Brandy, you up?"

I heard her groan in response.

"Okay, well I've got some errands to run. You gonna be alright?"

Another groan in response. Okay then.

I made my way past the living room to grab my keys from the entry way and slipped my slides on quickly. It's currently 9:00 am and Hayden's flight gets in at 9:30, so hopefully there's no traffic on the way to the airport. Brandy truly has no idea what we've planned for her, but I hope this will cheer her up. It's good that Brandy has such an amazing best friend willing to drop everything to be by her side. I mean, I asked Hayden if she could come out to Storrs only last night and she's already almost here? That's dedication right there.

"Girly pops, where you goin'?"

"Gotta run to the airport, KK, I'm picking up Hayden for Brandy."

"OOO GIRL, HER BEST FRIEND?"

"Yeah, that's the one," I shrugged, "jus' hoping this makes her feel better, you know." Brandy requested that I don't tell the team what happened yet, she doesn't want their sympathy when she's so fragile right now. All they know is something's got our girl down, we're just lucky enough they haven't questioned too much.

"Yeah, yeah, I gotchu. See you in a bit, P Boogers."

"Aye, watch it." I laughed, slamming the door behind me.

"Hey, good to see you!" I wrapped Hayden in a hug. I had only met her a few times, but every time I'm around her she's been amazing to hang with.

"Hi! So good to be back here!"

"Here lemme get your luggage." I heaved up her bag into the trunk of my car and opened the passenger door for her.

"What a gentlewoman."

"Thanks, I try." I smirked.

Once we got out of the airport traffic we started talking.

"So what's up with my girl? I feel bad I haven't talked to her yet, but I know if I called her then I couldn't keep a secret."

"Yeah, yeah, I get that, no worries. Brandy's been not so good. Uh, well, Jenson broke up with her over text and she hasn't really been telling people." I took a deep breath before continuing, "I'm just worried 'bout her is all. I mean, out of all our team in the house, I'm the only one that knows about everything. And if it were up to her, I'm sure I wouldn't even know 'bout this in the first place."

Hayden looked over to me with sympathy, "Gosh, I'm a horrible friend. I've just been so busy with the school paper I didn't even think to-to text her or anything! God, I'm so fucking stupid!"

"Hey, hey, hey," I cut her off, "it's all good, okay, seriously. What's important is you're here now."

We both sighed at the same time, watching the road ahead of us. We just want to see our girl happy.
