**********Moving homes had become a routine for Sukuna, Arika, and their younger brother Yuji, but the strain was particularly heavy on Sukuna. Each move carried with it the burden of new beginnings and the pain of leaving behind pieces of their lives.
Sukuna, at just five years old, already felt the weight of these constant upheavals. Today, as they shifted to yet another new house, the familiar feeling of unease settled in his chest. He looked over at his Mother and asked "Mom when are we gonna' reach there?"
" It'll still take some time sweety, why don't you wake your siblings up" his mother replied. He glanced at his younger siblings, both sound asleep, and gently shook them.Arika, still half-asleep, murmured, "Are we there yet?"
"Not yet," Sukuna replied softly. "Just a little longer."
Arika nodded and drifted back to sleep, while Sukuna sighed and gazed out the window, lost in his thoughts.
The car finally came to a stop in front of their new home. Their father turned off the engine, and Sukuna took a deep breath. He looked at his siblings and, with a mischievous glint in his eye, shouted, "BOO!"
Both Arika and Yuji jolted awake, their eyes wide with surprise. Sukuna smirked. "We arrived," he said, unable to hide his amusement.
They quickly got out of the car and rushed inside. "Oh wow! It's pretty bigger than our last house," Sukuna exclaimed, taking in the sight of their new home. His excitement was tempered by the knowledge of what lay ahead: the inevitable task of unpacking and setting up their new space.
The house stood tall and inviting, with its white-painted walls gleaming in the afternoon sun. A large oak tree shaded the front yard, its branches swaying gently in the breeze. The front porch had a cozy swing, perfect for lazy afternoons. Inside, the house smelled of fresh paint and polished wood. The spacious living room was filled with unopened boxes and furniture waiting to be arranged.
"Okay, kids, let's get to work!" their mother called out, her voice filled with determination. "We have a lot to do."
The day passed in a blur of activity. Boxes were unpacked, furniture was arranged, and rooms were claimed. By the time the sun began to set, they were all exhausted. They had an early dinner and decided to call it a night.
As the night grew darker, Sukuna lay in his new bed, staring at the ceiling. The room felt strange, unfamiliar. He missed the comforting creaks and groans of their old house. He missed the way the moonlight filtered through his old window. But he knew that they had to make this new house their home.
"Goodnight, Suku," Arika whispered from the bed next to his.
"Goodnight, Aka-chan," Sukuna replied, using the nickname everyone had for his sister. "We'll get used to it."
Over the next few days, they began to settle into their new surroundings. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, a stark contrast to the chaos of moving. As they explored their new environment, they soon noticed a curious figure watching them from the house next door.
"Hey Suku, have you noticed the neighbor's kid?" Arika asked one afternoon.
"No, and wait-our neighbors have a kid?" Sukuna replied, puzzled.
"EXACTLY!! He probably never comes out because there aren't many kids in this neighborhood," Arika speculated.
"Well, why don't we go call him to play in the evening?" Sukuna suggested.
"OH GREAT IDEA! I'll ask mom," Arika said excitedly and ran off to get permission.
Evening came, and Arika gathered Sukuna and Yuji. They made their way to the neighbor's house, curiosity piqued. Peeking through the window, Arika saw a boy with pale skin, dark blueish-black hair, and striking green eyes. He was beautiful, almost ethereal, and seemed to be about Yuji's age.
"Psst-hey, look here," Arika called out, catching the boy's attention.
"What-who are you?" the boy asked, clearly surprised.
"Do you wanna play with us? We're your new neighbors," Arika half-shouted, a friendly smile on her face.
The boy hesitated but then smiled shyly. "Wait, I'll go ask my mom."
"Sure," Arika replied, waiting eagerly.
A few minutes later, the boy emerged from the house. "Hello," he greeted them with a small, nervous smile.
"Hi!!!" they all chorused back.
"What's your name?" Arika asked.
The boy looked down, a little embarrassed. "Megumi. Fushiguro Megumi."
"Can I really play with you guys?" Megumi asked hesitantly.
"If not, then why would we bother calling you out?" Sukuna said, a slight blush coloring his cheeks as he found Megumi incredibly cute.
The boy flushed, looked down, and mumbled a "sorry."
Arika glared at Sukuna. "Hey! Don't be mean."
Sukuna sighed. "I'm not trying to be mean. Let's just go play."
With that, they started heading to a nearby park, Megumi suddenly seemed anxious. His pale face grew even paler and he tried to stop them. "Why don't we play in the backyard instead ?"
Arika and Sukuna sensed something was off but decided to brush it aside, "Okay let's play in the backyard ", Arika noticed the relief on Megumi's face. They had fun playing tag and hide and seek for the time begin but had their curiosity about megumi's reluctance to visit the park.
As they ran around and played games, they found themselves laughing and bonding with Megumi. The initial awkwardness melted away.
Megumi watched them with a shy smile, slowly starting to join in the games. He climbed the slide, hesitantly at first, but soon his laughter rang out as he slid down, the wind whipping through his hair.
Sukuna couldn't help but feel a warmth in his chest as he watched Megumi. "He really is cute," he thought to himself.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, they reluctantly made their way back home, waving goodbye to Megumi. Little did they know that this was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, one that would grow and deepen over time.
