A/N: Thanks for the request @Shealeah1
I had a lot of fun writing this and since it isn't too far into the summer yet, I figured I'd go ahead and write this one out and then mainly focus on a different project the rest of the time. So here you go 😙 Anyways, hope you all enjoy! <3Three hours have passed since everyone went to sleep. Well, everyone except for me. Don't get me wrong, today was definitely a very exhausting day but for some reason, I find myself tossing and turning every second, unable to fall asleep. I can feel it in my heart that something is bothering me but what could it be? Maybe I'm homesick? While I may not know the answer to those questions, one thing's for sure... I am beyond hungry.
Quietly, I slide my legs off the bed and slip on my blue slippers. Walking down the corridor, I suddenly get the urge to head over to the main deck. I've always loved looking up at the stars. Mainly because my parents would take me out to see them every weekend. We'd set up picnics under the stars and once we all finished eating, we would bask in the soothing sounds of chirping crickets and the gusts of wind that followed with a peaceful rustle of the trees' leaves. And every time, before we went back inside, each of us would list one thing that we were grateful for. It was our tradition... a tradition I miss dearly.
Once I near the doorway—the very one that leads into the main deck—I halt to a stop. It seems that I am not the only one who likes stargazing. I lean against the door frame, studying Leo's body language from a distance. He's standing a few feet away from the glass with his arms crossed. I honestly can't tell if he is just enjoying the peace or if something is bothering him too. But I kept my eyes locked on him, now beginning to feel that same sense of emptiness I felt earlier.
"Hey Y/N," he suddenly said.
This took me by surprise so I glanced around with no definite purpose. "How did you..." I trailed off. I returned my gaze to where Leo was only to find that he had disappeared.
"Boo!" He exclaimed in a hushed manner from behind, quickly covering my mouth with his hands to muffle my scream.
My eyes were wide for a split second before narrowing. I cross my arms and he lets me go, chuckling of course. I turn around to meet his sapphire-blue gaze. "Will you not?" I spoke in a half stern half joking kinda way. "You scared the bejeebers out of me."
He smirked. "I figured I owed you one for that prank you and my brothers pulled on me a few weeks ago."
I rolled my eyes playfully. "You always need to come out on top don't you?"
"Eh. More or less," he said, walking to his former spot next to the glass. I followed.
Now, I'm standing to the right of him, eyes locked on what's in front of me. The view is absolutely incredible. Stars, planets, it's almost too much to take in all at once. I lean forward slightly, observing every little speck in the void. I got so distracted that I almost didn't notice Leo staring at me. I face him without hesitation. Quickly, he shifts his gaze back to the stars and clears his throat.
