SALVATORE BOARDING HOUSE
Damon stood in the serene garden of the Boarding House, his gaze fixed on the horizon of Mystic Falls, a glass of scotch in hand. Aella approached him slowly, her steps light as she sought to alleviate the tension that hung thick in the air.
"How can you drink that this early?" she teased, hoping to break through Damon's stoic facade.
Damon's eyes remained fixed on the scenery, his response curt. "I'm surrounded by idiots. I need all the help I can get."
Aella rolled her eyes, knowing that coaxing Damon into cooperation wouldn't be easy. Still, she was determined to mend their rift and enlist his support for Elijah's plan.
"I know we've both approached this the wrong way, but we now have a plan that everyone but you is on board with. Can you let go of whatever is bubbling inside of you and help? We're stronger together," she urged, her voice tinged with sincerity.
Finally, Damon turned to her, his eyes ablaze with anger. "Elijah is an original vampire, Aella. One we tried to kill just a few weeks ago. He is also Klaus's brother. You know, and I do, that relationships like that are complicated. Are you seriously going to believe this guy?"
Aella met Damon's glare head-on, unflinching in her resolve. "If it saves the life of my best friend and keeps my cousin alive. Yes," she affirmed, her conviction unwavering.
Damon's teeth clenched in frustration, his gaze piercing. When he spoke, his words were laced with bitterness. "She is going to end up dead."
Damon's words hung heavy in the air, his bitterness palpable, but Aella's resolve remained unyielding, her eyes narrowing as she met his challenging stare head-on.
"Which one?" she retorted sharply, her tone cutting through the tension. "I know you were willing to sacrifice one so easily. I know this is the right decision."
Damon's bitter laughter echoed in the quiet garden as he turned away from her, his gaze fixed on the town below.
"Well, then, that makes you the biggest idiot of them all," he spat, the words like venom on his tongue.
Aella's eyes brimmed with unshed tears as she shook her head in disbelief, the weight of Damon's scorn heavy upon her. Without another word, she turned and walked away, the sound of her sniffles echoing in the stillness of the garden.
As she entered the Boarding House, she was met by the wide-eyed gaze of Elena, who approached her with urgency.
"Carol Lockwood is in the hospital," Elena blurted out, her voice tinged with worry.
Aella's eyes widened in realization, the gravity of the situation sinking in. Klaus had just made his first move.
"Shit!" Aella exclaimed, her mind racing with the implications of Klaus's actions. The game was afoot, and the stakes had never been higher.
Aella's frustration boiled over as she stomped past Elena, who trailed after her into the library where Stefan and Elijah were engaged in conversation. Without preamble, Aella announced the urgent news.
"Klaus may be getting his werewolf," she declared, her voice tense with apprehension.
Elijah and Stefan immediately ceased their discussion, turning their attention to Aella and Elena with keen interest. Aella gestured for Elena to continue.
"Carol Lockwood is in the hospital," Elena confirmed, her voice laden with concern.
Stefan let out a bitter laugh, his expression grim with understanding.
