"Congratulations Riya!!!"said my coworker, Malini with a bright smile on her face. I looked up from my drawing tab and gave her a questioning glance.
"what? "I asked.
I was expecting an answer from her but she just grined at me and said, "I didn't think you are the next one among us to get engaged!!! Congratulations!!"
After hearing her clarification, I slowly nodded my head and gave her an awkward smile as I continued my work, not bothering to reply her. "Really!? So when is the treat?!"asked Suresh, my another coworker. Oh for god's sake!!!
"What?" I scoffed. "Yes Riya!!! You are engaged now!!! Give us a treat!!!" said Rupsi. "Wait I-!", " Who is engaged?"asked another one of my coworker. "Riya is!"said Malini
"Congratulations Riya!!"she said.
" Than-"
"Congratulations..." "Congratulations!!!"
"Oh treat! Trea! Treat!" "Wait!!!
" Who is giving treat?"asked my boss, Mrs. Jhansi. "Riya is!!!"
"I actually-!!!"
"Where are we going?!" asked another one.
"We are not-!"
"There is new restaurant near by!!!"
"Wai-!!"
"Yeah let's all go there!!! It's Riya's treat!!!"
"Yeah lets!!"
I am doomed.

Today couldn't get any worser. "Thanks Riya!", " Yeah, it was a really good meal" said my coworkers as they started to headout. I was not my paying any attention to them as I was drowned in my own thoughts while looking at my almost empty purse with a sigh.
It's been a two days since I got engaged. I moved in on Mehta's Palace along with my relatives yesterday as the wedding preparations are getting started within two days.
I did expect the wedding preparations to start soon. But not this soon!!! Two days. I managed two days by not running into Jai. I know that I will have to confront him soon. But not this soon!!! I am not ready.
Jai's family was away on a trip to attended their business partner's wedding. So it was only Anjali ji and jaya ji there. Jayaji wanted me to move in with them as soon as possible and I did it as I had no choice. My relatives will be coming to stay there when the wedding preparations starts.
Anjali ji and jaya ji are good people. They treat me like their own. I am genuinely Happy that they are not some evil witches as I expected them to be. Not everyone is like my family members I guess.
I came to work today as my new character design was being delayed. As an artist, I try my best to complete my artwork before the deadline.But this time, I didn't really have any motivation to draw considering the situations around me.
That's not the only reason I came to work today. It felt weird being in that huge place with only two people and lots of servants. Probably because of the way I grew up, surrounded by toxic relatives who treated me like trash.
