"A hug?" Pomni repeated, genuinely surprised. She'd never expected that. 'I don't even remember what one feels like..'

Pomni stared at the gummy gator and his slightly outstretched arms for a moment.

"Aye, you know I figured it'd make you feel better. It works a charm for m-" Gummi was cut off when Pomni practically pounced him in a tight squeeze. He was startled for a moment, before smiling and squeezing back just as tightly. "There it is.." He whispered, patting Pomni's back assuringly. Pomni felt her heart twist, grateful for the croc's compassion.

It did help.

Hours later, by dawn, and the two were walking along in the blistering sun. Gummi looked as chipper as ever, dead set in the direction where the sun had risen. Pomni however.. not so much. She sighed, each step feeling more and more useless. She wasn't tired necessarily, just mentally wobbly. Something she was afraid of, she didn't want to become like.. well, what Kaufmo became.

It had scared Pomni obviously, but moreso sparked uncertainty and a bit of curiosity. 'What was it, that happened to Ragatha when Kaufmo's abstracted form contaminated her. Is there a possible cure for the abstracteds? Why can't Caine fix them? Why-'

Gummigoo looked down when he heard her sigh. "Why are you so strung out? Tell me. We're alive, we'll stay that way as long as I've got somethin' ta do with it, so whats the wuckas?"

Pomni sighed, and found it better to just answer his question. "This place.. the Circus. I've already seen so much that I just can't rationalize, I don't even think it's possible to. I.. my reality is shattering too, Gummigoo, I mean.. I'm stuck inside of a videogame!" She exclaimed. Gummi just blinked, silent for a moment.

"Videogame?" He drawled, not recognizing the term.

Pomni sighed again, staring at the ground as they walked. This was all so much, it was hard to believe it really wasn't a dream. She felt a hand on her shoulder, instantly relaxing. Well, somewhat.

"I may not understand exactly, but I still support you Pom, just like you said you know how I feel, I know how you feel as well." Gummi said, and Pomni finally felt a bit of weight coming off of her shoulders. They had something in common, a situation to share, rather than braving it alone.

"Thank you," Pomni said, her tone seeming less quakey, more sure of herself. The questions and worries still ate at the back of her mind, but they were hushed, for the time being.

"No dramas, mate! And hey, we'll be back soon, I'm already starting to get a grasp. Like that Cadbury cactus! I think I saw that cactus last Tuesday at bingo." Gummi pointed at the plant, feigning utter seriousness as Pomni laughed, causing him to grin and crack more odd jokes.

After a bit, a small square appeared on the horizon, and Pomni squinted upon noticing it, "What's that?" She asked.

Gummi shielded his eyes from the sun as he too got a good look, gauging what it was, before gasping and shaking her shoulder slightly.

"I'd know those walls anywhere.. that's my village!"
