OMNISCIENT POV

Today is the day of DD's first basketball match of the season.

He's been extremely focused this whole week, dedicating himself to rigorous training.

He hasn't smoked for the past week either, choosing to go on runs every morning before school at 4 AM.

After his run, he heads back home to shower and get ready for the day.

This will be his routine for the next couple of months.

Whenever he's not occupied with something else, he's at the gym, training with his teammates.

Ariana, on the other hand, has also been busy with cheer practice every other day this week.

Mika hasn't been letting the team slack off at all. Everyone is very busy, but tonight is just a friendly opening match for the season, so the cheer teams aren't performing.

"Are you ready though?" Ariana asks her boyfriend as they walk together to their next class.

"Yeah, I guess I am," dd replies, letting Ariana go through the door first.

The two walk to the back of the classroom and sit in the seats next to each other.

"Come here, ma," he says, wanting Ariana on his lap.

"Dd, we're in class," she says, looking around.

"The teacher ain't here yet and no one else finna say nothin', baby," dd says. Ariana gets up and sits on dd's lap.

Dd lays his head on Ariana's back, slipping his hands under her shirt. "Dd, stop," she whisper-shouts at him, making him laugh.

"I missed you, mamasss," he whines, making her blush a little. "I missed you too—"

"Alright, class, take out your books. I just had to stop by the photocopy machine," the teacher rushes into the classroom,

making Ariana jump up from dd's lap and sit in her seat next to him.

As Ariana diligently works on her assignments,

dd does nothing but watch her, analyzing her features and taking in her beauty.

Halfway through the period, Ariana notices that dd's desk is still empty.
