I wake up to the sound of the AC humming, but it’s too quiet...

Mom and Dad must’ve already left for work, like they said last night during dinner.

I remember them telling me they'd be gone early while we were eating Mom's famous paella.

Emmanuel’s already up, sitting in the living room with his eyes glued to YouTube.

I head downstairs, “Whatcha watching, Manni?” I ask, heading to the kitchen to start breakfast for both of us.

“Uhh, nothinggg, just one of Noticuz’s videos,” he says, not looking away from the TV.

I grab two bowls and look over his shoulder to see DD and Ddot in a car with some other guy, laughing and fooling around.

I take out my phone and snap a picture of the video, sending it to DD with a smirk. Having him come over today doesn’t sound bad at all.
