2: Suffering in silence

Walking into the principal's office I was a little surprised to see steven there. He was one of the police officers who took my parents' case.

Though it was short lived for only a day, they still did some investigating and concluded that it was just as my brother said an accident. Steven knew what truly happened or half the truth of what really happened and that's why when his partner closed and the ruled the case as an accident, he was very angry.

Till this day he still has a grudge against my family and has been trying to find way to put us behind bars. 

"Principal Mccloud, officer steven. You called for me sir." I say as I close the door behind me. "Josie, I assume you've met officer steven before." he says, and I nod. "Well then I'll leave you two to talk." He says walking out of the office closing the door behind him.

The tension in the room becomes clear as I take a seat on the sofa folding my arms and crossing my leg. "Is there a problem officer steven?" I ask looking him directly in the eye. "Something interesting happened at the station and we would like to ask you a few questions."

"Oh?" I say wondering what he could be talking about. "Do I need to call my brother." I asked and he shakes his head. "I'd rather he not get involved in this if possible."

"Tell me something first officer steven. Who is this person you want to question me about."

"How do you know it's a person."

"Is it not?" I asked and he stayed quiet. "I'd prefer not to say who right here." He says looking around the room, and I stand looking up at him "and I'd prefer not to be bother while at school but here we are so, either you give me a reason to talk to you or I excuse myself and go back to the class."

"You're making this more difficult Miss Ellis." I bite the inner corner of my gum holding myself back from something I know I'll regret. My eyes shift to his gun but quickly shifted back to his eyes which seemed to have followed my own to his gun.

"It's Josie." I say, "Right Josie please don't make this any more difficult than it has to be."

"But whatever do you mean officer steven, you are the one making this difficult by not telling me the name of the person who wants to speak to me." 

He yet again stays quite so I sigh as I start walking out of the room. "Wait-" he says, and a devilish smile crept onto my face "Yes." I say tilting my head to the side, my hands behind my back. "Fabian Miller."

"Yesterday afternoon he walked into the police station calming he was kidnapped and held captive by Alexander Ellis. Thats all I'm saying now. The rest you can hear at the station."

He sates looking at me waiting for my reaction, but I know better so don't give him one. "Interesting indeed. I'll cooperate." I say and he nods as he starts walking out of the office as I follow behind him but not before looking through the window and smiling.

I walk in front of him as he stops in front of the classroom door. I walk in not bothering to greet the teacher as I packed up my stuff. Avery and Cicilia asked if something was wrong when they saw stevens standing at the door, but I just told them its fine and that I'd talk to them later. 

After I finished packing my things I glance over to the new kid and was surprised to see he wasn't in his seat. Ignoring that I went with stevens to his car, and we drove to the police station and as expected my brother was already outside waiting for us. "I don't appreciate my sister being dragged away from her school."

He says as we exist the car and I walk to stand beside him holding on to his arm like the loving sister I was.

"I assure you Mr. Ellis no one was dragged. she came here of her own free will." stevens says walking over to us. "Is that right Josiephine?" he asks, and I smile shrugging "In any case I'll be taking my sister home now." He says as we try to walk away but stevens grabs ahold of my arm.

"This is considered assault officer stevens you should know this." My brother states grabbing ahold of stevens hand and pulling it off of my wrist.

"I need to speak with your sister Mr. Ellis." He says but my brother completely ignores him as he opens the car door for me. "If you want to speak with my sister get a court to sign off first... though it won't get you anywhere." he says, whispering the last part as he steps into his side of the car.

The car ride was silent as we made our way to the base. "What did he want?" Alex finally asked anger and displeasure clear in his voice. "It looks like one of your lab rats have ran away" I say in a taunting tone, and he glares at me his hand gripping the steering weld.

"Which one was it." He asks and I turn my body to face his. "How bad do you want to know"

"Don't fuck with me Josephine. Who the fuck was it" He yells speeding up the car and I sit properly on the seat my hand gripping the door tightly.

"Slow the fuck down" I say to him, and I can feel him speed up even more. 

"Alex!" I yell but he still continues to go faster until he finally stops at our destination. 

"Get inside right now." He says through gritted teeth turning off the car, getting out and slamming the door. As he did the tears, I never knew I was holding finally started to fall one by one.
