Princess of Hearts

Chapter 1

Dear Diary: "I am Nova, the fourth princess of the Starlux Kingdom and well this is my first time writing a diary. My mother gave me one recently and I decided that today is the 300th day of the year 5079. It was the perfect day to start writing it. Also, I have something that I'm dying to tell but I can't share it with anyone because it will soon be on everyone's lips, so as my mother says "The diary is the best friend of secrets" and speaking of secrets here is mine, I am completely and happily in love with my dear D. I'll just write his initial in case Melody finds the diary. Melody, if you read this, don't tell anyone or I will tell others that you are afraid of rabbits. That will serve as a warning to my mischievous little sister."

-"Nova" I heard someone behind me...

- "Oh! But what a fright you gave me, beloved mother, to which I owe your presence, Your Majesty, Queen Flora of..."

-"Enough... Enough hahaha..." my mother said laughing as I like to make her laugh, she is undoubtedly an extraordinary and very beautiful woman and Queen, my older sister says that I only have half of her beauty but half my mother's beauty is enough for me and I have plenty. After all I have her wits.

-"Okay mom, how haha... can I help you? Hahaha..." I said laughing with her, she made a sign asking me to calm down. I know that if we keep laughing like this my 4 sisters, my brother and my father will be here before I can say star.

-"Tell me who the lucky one is and I'll tell you why I came," my mother responded, looking over my shoulder nimbly. Singing stars how did I forgot my diary open in front of my mother who analyzes everything!

-"Young D. is what you can call him for now. That is because, as you know, by law I will not be able to get married until the three eldest are married and although I love my sister Astraia very much she does not give me hope that she will marry soon, she is more interested in politics and horses than wedding dresses and gentlemen"

-"And even then you would still need two more sisters, getting married" said Mom with a sigh. "I'm not old enough to gossip and find out if there are gentlemen interested in them if only I were, I don't know, 19 years old, for example..." I'm 19 years old. What does my mother mean?

-"What would you do?" ask willing to learn

Well, maybe if I were young and I  could excuse certain indiscretions in high society, I would have already gotten your sisters husbands, but I must be an example of discretion and etiquette, especially at my age."

-"You suggest then... that I help my sisters find a husband?... So I can marry... him." is what I understood

-"I haven't suggested something like that have I?... Hahaha... Tell me how it goes once a week princess of hearts" she responded

-"Princess of hearts?" I asked

- "They used to call me the Queen of Hearts when I was young and I just ascended the throne, because I helped my best friends get married well and now look how happy they are... Oh! but honey when you play with hearts you have to be careful because one mistake could be deadly" she said, lowering her voice to a whisper.

Deadly?!!!" I asked scared

"Deadly for the heart that represents the feelings and emotions of your sisters or even for your feelings and emotions... I don't want my girls to suffer so be careful, I will guide you if necessary" she said, giving me a loving hug.

"Thank you, mother," I said, returning the hug.

"Now let's go down quickly or your sisters and brother will finish all the dessert I made" she said, hurrying to the door.

"Dessert? Great!!!" I said before rushing down, almost running, to the kitchen.
