"Well, today was pretty interesting." I said to my mom, in the car as we were on the way home, "I met two really kind people."

"That's amazing, Yajaira," she says, then turning her attention to my older sister who was in the front seat, "What about you, Yanni?"

My sister shook her head in irritancy, "My day was fine." She says, then resting her head on the window glass.

"Any new friends?" I asked. She turned back towards me and shook her head 'no'.

"Not many." She explained to me, turning back facing the windshield, "Except this one girl, but it was super embarrassing because she had to walk me to all of my classes."

I let out a small chuckle. "Not me, I found my class easy-peasy." I mumbled.

"Yajaira," my mom said, looking at me in the rear view mirror, "what did I say about teasing your big sister?"

During supper, which was super quiet, I got a call from an unsaved number. I quickly declined the call in respect for my mom's 'no phone calls during dinner' rule. The number called again, and again and I finally excused myself from the dinner table and answered the call in my room.

"Hello?" I said, holding the phone to my ear.

"Sorry. Did I call at a bad time?" The familiar voice said through the phone. It was a young boy's voice. I think I knew who it was.

"Kosta?" I asked, "Yeah, it is sort of a bad time. I was eating dinner. But can I ask how you got my phone number?"

"Oh. Right." Kosta said, sounding a bit down and offended, "I—"

"No, I'm sorry." I said, rephrasing my statement from before, "That came out rude."

"No worries." He said, reassuringly, "I understand."

"It isn't a huge deal or anything," I explained, "I don't mind you having my number."

I heard him slightly giggle through the phone. His laugh was super cute.

"See you tomorrow?" I said, wrapping up the phone call.

"Okay." He says.

I hung up the phone and stuffed it in my back pocket. I made my way back downstairs to clean off my plate. I felt a short lasting vibration in my back pocket. Somebody had texted me.

Kosta: Want to study for our math exam tomorrow at lunch in the library?

Yajaira: Sure! Lol I do actually need to get my grade up anyway.

Kosta: Cool. I'll leave you alone now. Ttyl.

The next morning, I got ready for school. My outfit was really cute, but also slightly revealing. I wore a super short skirt that my older sister Yanni gave to me, which actually was still a bit small for me.
