...
Thankfully, I got to finish my math page before the bell rang. Kosta finished long before I did, so he helped me gather together all of my things and put everything back in my backpack. I enjoyed spending lunch with him. I was super excited to tell my older sister, Yanni, that I finally got to experience my first kiss. Me and Kosta were about to exit the library, until he exclaimed.
"Oh, wait!" he shouts, before running back to the table we were sitting at, "You almost forgot your phone."
He picks my phone up from the table, and sprints back toward me and hands me my phone. He was so kind. Without him, I would have probably been devastated and stressed out searching for my phone.
"Thank you so much." I said, "You're literally a life saver. I don't know what I'd do without my phone."
He smiled and looked down at his feet. I was so stuck on his beautiful eyes. He was too handsome. I'm surprised he doesn't have many friends. He's such a pleasureful person to be around.
"We should get going," Kosta says, as I started at his handsomeness, "We don't want to be late for class."
...
The end of school bell rings and I pack my backpack up. Kosta does the same. He stands up and puts his backpack on and waits for me.
"Do you take the bus?" Kosta asks, once I stand up from my chair. I stuff my phone in my pocket and nodded. "You walk home?" He adds.
"No," I say with a small giggle, "My mom picks me and my sister up."
"Sister?" he says, "I had no idea you had a sister."
I smile and begin to walk out of the classroom. Kosta follows.
"Yeah, Briyanne." I said, waiting for him to catch up, "She's my older sister. She hates when I call her 'Briyanne'."
"Oh, so what do you call her?" he asks. I was surprised that Kosta was so interested.
"She prefers if me and my mom call her 'Yanni'." I explain, "It's what our dad used to call her."
"That's nice." he says, "I have a sister, too, except she's younger than me."
"Oh, yeah?" I asked as we exited the building, "What's she like?"
"Eh..." he says, tilting his head, "She's normal, I guess."
I nodded, then stayed quiet not knowing what else to say.
"What's your sister like?" he asks, breaking the silence, "I think her name was Yanni?"
"Oh, yeah," I said, "Yanni--She's pretty, she's really good at volleyball. She competed back at home--"
"Home?" he asks, looking at me, "What do you mean?"
"Oh, I'm sorry," I explained, "I'm actually from America."
"Where in America?" he asks, intriguingly, "I want to know more about you. Sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions."
"No, it's okay." I assured, "I'm from Los Angeles, California."
"Ah. Hollywood." he says, jokingly.
"I wish." I added, "I actually didn't live in the nice part of LA."
He stayed silent for a moment, "I didn't think there was a non-nice part of LA." he adds.
"Yeah, it's pretty for the most part," I explained, "but the area I lived in was--"
I got cut off by the sound of my moms car horn. I saw her behind the window, and Yanni in the passenger seat mouthing 'hurry up'.
"I'm so sorry about that." I said, covering my mouth, "That was embarrassing."
"No worries," he says, smiling, "I'll text you when I get home."
I waved goodbye and I was about to walk to my car, but Kosta grabbed my hand and pulled me in for a hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck and stood on my tippy toes since he was so much more taller than I was. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I smelt his cologne. It smelt really good. Once we let go, I walked into my moms car, preparing for her excitement from witnessing me hugging goodbye a boy from school.
"Well? Are you going to tell us his name?" she says, waiting for a response, "Don't leave us hangin'! We want to know all of the tea."
I made a disgusted face from the fact my mother just used the term 'tea'.
"His name is Kosta." I said, putting my seatbelt on, "He's my desk partner. He helped me with math today."
"He's cute!" my mom adds, looking at me through the rear-view mirror, "I wonder what his parents do."
"Why does it even matter?" I asked in irritancy. I barely just got in the car and she's already asking so many questions.
"Welcome to my world." Yanni says, turning back toward me from the passenger seat, "This is why I stopped telling mom my 'tea'. She once asked me where this boy's grandmother lived."
Me, mom, and Yanni all started laughing like pigs.
