"SEVYN!" IS THE FIRST THING I HEAR AS I SMILE AND walk into Paiges house and Drew comes running in for a hug. "Hey RueRue!" I squeal as drop the bags I have and pick him up to squeeze him in my arms.

"I've missed you so much! You really need to tell Paige to lock in and plan us more visits to see you."

Drew smiles all teeth and says "I've missed you too! Are those gifts for me?" he says, pointing to the bags. "Yea. You can open them later." I tell him.

"Okay, wanna come see my fortnite skills?" "Yea RueRue, let's go," I say with a chuckle and we head to the living room.

Paige walks into view in blue UCONN basketball shorts and a white t-shirt. Her blonde hair is in a low bun and she looks so fine as usual. "I heard what you just said Sev. Why I gotta do all the planning? You do something for once, damn."

"Damn," Drew repeats. "What does damn mean? I want a damn," he tells us cheekily. The little shit knows what he's saying yet continues to say it.

I walk up to Paige and hand her Isaiah's keys. I'm using his car while we're here. "Hey! He's your actual brother, so you have to make the plans . And look you just made him say a bad word." I make a mock-pouting face at Paige.

Drew is basically like the other younger brother I never had, and I love him like he's my blood family.

A/N: I don't know much about Paiges family so I'm only going to include like basically no scenes with them in it bc I don't wanna do all that so yea.

"Drew, don't say that around your mom before she yells at me," Paige says and then turns to me. "What are the keys for?"

"My bag is in the car and I couldn't bring it in because my hands were full. Can you get it for me?" I ask. "Yea I'll be right back," she says. I'm staying over at her house for a couple nights before we have to go back to Connecticut.

AFTER DREW OPENS HIS GIFTS, I LEAVE SEV and him downstairs playing fortnite to go put Sev's bag away.

I grunt as I lug her suitcase into my room. Why did she bring so much stuff just for a month? I lift weights weekly and I'm still finding this heavy.

I'm a bit nervous about her staying in my room. We haven't shared a bed since high school days, and I don't know what to expect as we're exploring this new territory.

I need advice right now, so I call Nika. She's Sev's other best friend on the team, and also one of mine. The pretty Croatian girls face fills the screen."Hey boogers, what's up!" she says with her European accent. The team granted me with the nickname P boogers, but Nika is lazy off the court so she shortened it into 'boogers'.

I roll my eyes and say, "Are you free to talk right now? I need some help." Nika is visiting her family in Croatia for a little bit while we're in the off season. "Yea, I'm just eating lunch. What do you need help with? Explain your problem to me," she says.

I tell her whats up and huff a breath once I'm done. Nika raises her eyebrows at me, and thats how I know she's gonna give me some good advice. I know her tells.

"Okay. I'm gonna just say it plainly, you need to stop wasting time. Her time AND your time. Not to sound like a Tumblr quote, but time is too precious to be wasted. You like her a lot and you could see yourself with her, so just start your story now."

"I hate to admit that you're right, even though your quote sounded stupid. I need to do things on my own terms though. I need to prepare myself for the possibility of rejection," I say. "I mean, I'm barely even her type, look at Ashleigh." I taste bile in my mouth as I say her name. Me and Ashleigh are complete opposites.

I hate Ashleigh, plain and simple. She's a two-faced bitch. She honestly did treat Sev really good during their relationship, and she seemed like such a good partner, so you would never guess that she would do what she did to Sev.

I used to be cool with her, even though I secretly wanted her girlfriend. Ashleigh used to be on our team before she got transferred to LSU after the incident. Sev has always been really close with Geno, so he pulled those strings.

I also really pushed him to get her off the team. There was no way I was gonna watch Sev suffer as she worked in an environment with her cheating ex. I also don't think I'd be able to handle having Ashleigh as a teammate.

Whenever we play LSU, coach puts someone else on her and she usually isn't guarding me because I'm taller.

Back to the conversation, Nika reassures me. "Trust me, you're her type. I see how she looks at you. But anyways here's my final advice: Make a move and then express your feelings after, or express feelings first and make a mover after."

I thank Nika for her advice and finish chopping it up with her before I hang up. I still have no idea what I'm actually going to do.

I've decided chapters are gonna be however long. me personally i dont like long chapters but sometimes i wanna be fed so its gonna be a mix

also i was thinking of changing the title to a sza song and changing the cover too but idk. thoughts?
