Maple didn't answer my text at all during the weekend. At first I thought that her parents took away her phone again but I saw she was very active on Snapchat so I don't know what her deal is. Maybe she felt bad for not going to the sleepover? I'll find out right now. 

I wait at her locker and I find her walking over looking at her phone. When she's on her way she looks up and sees me and tries to walk the other way but I go to her 

"Hey Maple!" "Oh Uhm hey Y/N..I heard about you and Larry is it true you guys are.." I smile "Dating? Yeah it's true. He's taking me on a date after school today" I play with a piece of my hair. Maple barley shows me a smile "Welp, good for you" She turns away and starts to walk away "Wait Maple!" I grab her wrist 

"Is everything alright? How come you didn't answer my text at all?" She doesn't look me in the eye "I've just been busy" "Doesn't seem like it. You posted a bunch on Snapchat" I frown and she pulls my hand away from her wrist "It doesn't matter. I'm gonna be late for class" She tries to walk away but I go in front of her 

"Nu uh! Tell me what's going on?!" Maple looks around making sure nobody is watching "Look can we not do this here?" "No Maple, we're doing this here and now" She glares at me "I thought you didn't want my 'sloppy seconds' ?" "Huh?" I tilt my head to the side "When I told you Larry and me dated. You said you didn't want my seconds" She crosses her arms 

"I was going through a lot then-but why do you even care? Do you still like him?" "No! Of course not!" she stuffs her hands in her pockets "Then who do you like?!" I saw with no thought. 

There's silence for a bit. Maple looks away then looks at me with big sparkling eyes. My eyes go wide with realization "Oh Maple...."
