Hannah is true to her word. She does not leave the apartment, even when her mother calls and asks her to come over. Glancing at my wrist, which is adorned with my very beautiful Tissot design, I remove the watch, placing it on the tabletop, next to the two others. Rolex and Tag Heuer.

The simplicity of their designs and slimness are what attracts me to purchase them. Classy. Both humidity and sudden changes in temperature can affect the functioning of a watch so I keep my babies in their original boxes in a specific drawer in my closet. My cleaning lady is very careful with my wrist pieces as I left specific instructions for Hannah to let her know when to clean them. On the last Friday of every month- and only on that day, wipe the watches on the table and only use a warm wet cloth and nothing else.

Call me old-fashioned but I am very passionate about my outward look.

This is saying much, considering my appearance, I know but I don't care much for the words or thoughts of the youths of today that have the opinion that smartphones have replaced watches. To me, donning a high-quality men's watch is a huge step up in sartorial terms. But that's just my opinion.

And I do like the smartwatch. Three things; one, because I was curious about the functions in the other realm- turns out it wasn't so smart like the classical watches that still functioned in my world. And two; the music. Yes, I love your realm's music. We don't have your type of music in my realm and three, because it's easier to clean as I sweat a lot when I work out... it's the only time I sweat. After an extreme workout. I don't need it to check my heart rate or anything.

Heart? Why yes of course I have a heart. I have normal human body functions. I do take showers and everything else like you do- but do I need to? No. I just enjoy it. Even my sweat is attractive to you, mortals.

Hannah's phone rings again and she gets up to leave the room. I get up too. We are currently watching a movie and V puts it on pause when Hannah gets up. Yes, V has mannerisms unlike the folks of today who will leave the movie running, I have noticed. Even Hannah too is sort of lacking in that department- she didn't even excuse herself and just got up in the middle of the show. Sometimes I wonder if I should correct her but then again, I don't want her saying to me, "That's offensive," because then I might be tempted to show her what actually is.

Hint- it won't be.

Hannah watches me and puts up her index finger which indicates to give her a minute. I ignore it and follow her into the living room. It's not that I don't trust her- actually, I don't, for she lies about the simplest things, but it's because it's my job to protect her atm. And keeping her in my eyesight is the best way to do so.

She pulls out a chair and is about to sit on it when she pauses mid-way. Her back bends forward she stays this way for a few seconds before I see her straighten up. My instincts kick in then. Something is wrong, I can feel it.

"Dad?" I hear her say, the tone in her voice altering.

"What was that noise?" she said again.

"Dad! Answer me! Dad!" her panicking tone has me on alert.

She turns around then and sees me. She pulls the phone away from her ear and says to me, "He's not answering me," as if I'm supposed to know what to say to her so I just stare, waiting.

"Daddy? What was that noise? Daddy..." her voice is hysterical now.

"What do you mean?" I query picking up silence from the earpiece on the other end of her conversation. Yes, I have super good hearing.

She stares at the phone, dumbfounded in her hand and slowly puts it back on her ear.

"Daddy?"

Her voice is so tiny that it scares me a little. I feel my insides go on higher alert. In this situation, you humans get a 'pore raising' happening on your skin. It's similar to mine except mine is on the inside. It's like you feel your blood standing- if you understand what I am trying to say.
